«  Buy it! (If you find it) »

Amp manufactured during the second half in 90 years by Trace Elliot England.
Full tube of 6 and 4 KT88 power ecc83/12ax7 preamp.
Considering the price, I have not changed since the purchase KT88, as they still work okay.
Preamp, I have a great sound with home ECC83s JJ (Slovakia). I put a 5751 JJ in V1 (first preamp lamp): the result is a bit softer, with a better balance in the frequency range.
Power, 400 watts from the catalog but with 6 KT88, should normally be closer to 300 w (but hey, that's good enough, right?). A 4 or 2 ohms impedance switch.
For the rest, volumes input and preamp output power, bass-mid-treble, mid with boost (by pulling the mid button), and then switch 2 "pre-shape" own the brands: the boosters Deep and Bright.
Side connections: an effects loop and 2 outputs HPs rear, good output "DI" XLR front

UTILIZATION

Use more simple, you die! You just wait a bit as it heats and before playing it cool before moving - 6 KT88 to change, it is expensive!

SOUNDS

From the first notes, we forget the price, the weight of the beast, the price of lamps or maintenance!
Low frequencies with lots of harmonics, a "heat" in the sound: not possible with the transistor!
A sound that can stay clean even at high volume and remains well balanced from the low to the very deep well clear treble (with HPs that allow: in my case: a 15-inch + a 2x10 Trace).
In short, this is not the Ampeg SVT! It is cleaner, with deeper bass, mids less pronounced than on SVT

OVERALL OPINION

I found this jewelry there seven months, after dreaming for 15 years.
I do not change it for anything in the world (at least I hope!) And I heard a lot.
I used Trace for 20 years (transistor version), and I was very satisfied. But then I found the holy grail!
If you seek a real tube amp for rock, if you like the color green, and if you see a move, buy! The V8 is even better, but very very rare and very very expensive (only 80 manufactured by Trace Elliot at the time)
