Fender adds 3 basses to its Modern Player Series

Along with the three new guitars, Fender completes its Modern Player Series with three basses.

The Modern Player Series will now offer two Jazz Bass Satin in 4 and 5-string versions.

Both versions are equipped with two Modern Player Jazz Bass humbucking pickups and 4 knobs, one of which has four positions for pickup configurations: full bridge and middle / full middle and single bridge / full bridge and single middle / single bridge and middle. Other knobs include a master volume and two tones.

Both basses also received a polyester satin finish and are available in Black, Olympic White and 2-Color Sunburst options.

The basses feature an alder body, a maple neck with C shape, and maple (Satin Black) or rosewood fingerboard with 9.5" radius, 20 jumbo frets and white or black Dot inlays. The scale length is 34" on both models, with a 4-saddle Hi-Mass bridge.

The 5-string neck is fixed with 5 bolts and the nut width is 1.875". Four bolts are used on the 4-string version and the nut width is 1.5".

US MSRP are $759.99 for the Modern Player Jazz Bass Satin (4 string) and $839.99 for the Modern Jazz Bass V Satin (5 string).

Last, Fender added a 4-string Dimension Bass with its assymetrical double cutaway. Fender used alder for the body, maple for the bolt-on neck (5 bolt) and rosewood (Candy Apple Red and Charcoal Transparent) or maple (Olympic White) for the fingerboard with 21 jumbo frets, 9.5" radius and white or black Dot inlays. Nut width is 1.5" and the scale length is 34".

The Modern Player Dimension Bass is equipped with a single TripleBucker pickup and a special circuit. The volume knob is completed by a 5-way rotary switch for choosing the pickup configuration: the coils together / front and middle coils / front coil / middle and back coils / back coil.

The bridge of this Dimension Bass is a 4-saddle Hi-Mass and a 1-ply black pickguard is included. US price announced is $699.99.
