Good, classic hardware, tune-o-matic, etc.. Usual settings (pickup selector 3 pos., 2 volumes, 2 tones).

Super beautiful (original remark, I know), I would not have bought if the finish had not rained.

UTILIZATION

Channel '50 's, but thick enough that I find comfortable (no access to acute super clear but it will).
Heavy, yes, but that's okay. It does not bother me, even after three hours of use.
Adaptation time needed to access and manipulate the selector knobs.
To obtain a good sound ... Ben, in fact, so good.

Ah, yes, I rather regret the lack of holding the tuning and the tendency of the bridges to break the strings (I had the same problem on my Start). The varnish gets dirty very easily (the sweat leaves more traces than the Fender).

SOUNDS

They agree quite my style of music (rock a little Péchu 70s sounds to Led Zep typically rock and a little more "garage" and psychedelic, like Pink Floyd, Doors).
Of course, she completed a Start that I use for the sounds more, uh, Fender, like Pink Floyd, or the rhythmic dynamic enough and not too heavy.
With the purchase, I found the sound of the pickups a bit unbalanced, even after adjustment, and the sound of the neck pickup a little garish. So I changed the pickups (496R and 498T from the seller) against a '59 Classic and '59 Classic +. The level is slightly lower, but the sound becomes more grain, smooth and, for me, easier to control (except perhaps the feedback).
In a good tube amp is nickel, but the couple pedals RP7 + Marshall, I was also pleasantly surprised.

OVERALL OPINION

I had long project to have one, the opportunity presented itself on Ebay for € 1560. It is my ideal guitar to complement my Strato. An instrument that has more personality than the Start (in addition to his course very different), but keeps on versatility.

Despite the minor flaws listed above, it is an instrument for me, very pleasant and really enjoyable (one of my friends, very good guitarist, do not feel on the other hand not at all).

After three months of play on this guitar, I would do without hesitation that choice, a sound point of view, such as aesthetics.

UTILIZATION

The handle is very nice ... access to acute, however, is pretty average (I'd recommend the technique of Slash and Zakk Wylde (guitar presuqe taken vertically, and there is good !))... Weight is really the only handicap of this guitar, but it is perfect !!!!!!!!!

PS: I do not even mention the superb oduer of "Nashville" ... owners understand me ... yum!

Bah ... sound level there is nothing to say apart that it is the sound of the largest ... complete this wonder by a Start 'and good you are and Vieu Marshall Parr for the adventure ... To return to the Les Paul, it is the exceptional level I'm in love! : D

OVERALL OPINION

I have less than 6 months ... ets it great, the small problem is its weight (and price but hey ...)...

I tried before buying three different Gibson SG (sound thinner than the Les Paul) and an ES 135 or 175 I know more ... very good guitar but also big ...
The value for money is good (bah another side to Euro 2900 it just be great, but I dreamed and I ...: p !!!!)
This choice I would do without hesitation ... I would give all the same a little advice, you definitely need a good strap very comfortable (I have a leather strap courtesy of the store!) and also ask strap locks ...

UTILIZATION

- The handle is nice, it does not stick as I had read elsewhere.
- Regardless of the handle 50 'or 60', access to treble is less easy than on a Start.

- I play blues / hard rock type Led Zep, Guns n 'Rose, Aero, Clapton, Freddie King ... and there is the guitar that suits my taste.
- I am currently on a Peavey Bandit 112 (second edition) which I find to shit on all points but I will soon move to a full tube combo (like JCM800), tired of transistors!
- For me the 4 knobs are not used much, my two would suffice. Since the start I had previously, a single button configuration for me and I do not ever change.
For clean sounds, I use two microphones (middle position) or the sound is bigger and less garish than the micro bridge. Otherwise I rarely use the mic Neck alone. At the moment I do not intend to change the pickups as I have not an amp worthy of the name, but I try very open humbuckers (formerly of Seymour Duncan).

OVERALL OPINION

- I've had nine months and no problems, it sounds better and better every day.
- What I like most: the sound as a priority, and finishing second (that is a Finish Lightburst for mine). I did not install the pickguard, I prefer not, and anyway I did not want to pierce the body of the guitar to install it. Since I play, I found no raillure is due to blows to the place of madiators pickguard.
Lightburst finish (on that one the pickguard was installed and the pickups are not original):

- What I regret:
1) access to high-pitched past the 17th box, you must practice to get there.
2) the exorbitant price I have paid 2400 euros to a German mail-order site (Cologne) and since this model has increased. However, the Luhya, which settled me told me that to build a specialist would cost the same price (the finish is expensive it seems) so who to believe?

OVERALL OPINION

I play it for over a year and I'm beginning to know well. It perfectly matches my Personal and my style of music. Prvois I bought a Les Paul Supreme secondhand if possible! So yes it CHRE but it's worth it! This guitar is and will remain one references. To those who say that it is difficult to play with (his sometimes imprcis, large round and round, heavy guitar), I would rpond: We never said that the Les Paul guitar for a silent little guitar! It has the characters and that's why the guitar is the greatest!

The handle, trs round, and wide enough for comfort is "rustic", and represents the spirit of the guitar: authentic, and the old. The varnish is far from being fast, but it increases the sensation of contact with the guitar.
CHAC is the acute "Gibsonian," that it is better to have big hands, if not, beware the gym from the 18th box.
The weight is consquent, and it is better to invest in a good strap, and especially in solid strap-locks.

Full, round, singing is the sound of rock, blues! A warm and velvety on the micro serious module that well with the volume gradually, ideal for the blues. I also have a Start and a Custom Dean, and even when it's something ...
So of course, according to the tastes of everyone, it will not please everyone: the weight, lack of flexibility (albeit with volume and tone, you can do anything), style (we can not love), the lack of fast and especially the price!

Fantastic, we find the true grain at gibson.
Gun's roses, acdc, Mettalica, blues, jazz, funk, everything is go ... .
The les paul standard left hand the sg (even better) and the les paul studio a lot more sustain and character in his ... décoiffe here!

OVERALL OPINION

This is the guitar to own!
It will age much better than sg ... Let me explain: Imagine you brush your 60 les paul actually doing blues or rock, that makes him immediately more than sg class (which for my taste, and here is only my opinion, too aggressive in look, I do not like guitars symmetrical).

Bought used like new, I would not change it for the world my les paul gibson against another or against another brand of scratching. I changed the pickups with original cache mtallique by Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 Pro that offer better sustain and a more round with a beautiful grain.

UTILIZATION

The handle is enjoyable to the touch, the size is perfect for my hands, no problem for the bars and the like. He slides mtal enough to play in any case has not impede me.

The Les Paul is a versatile guitar you can play blues, rock, punk or heavy metal and hard, or even the pop channel clear. on the other hand, we will not completely crystal-clear sound of a Start or a Tele slamming.

I bought this guitar new for over 10 years. It is like new. It always surprises me. It does not do everything with Lespaul, but in his inimitable style is a must. I tried to like the PRS bx beautiful ... They are great, but Different.

Note three important things:
_The Les Paul in 2007 (or in 2007 I do not know exactly) are lgres because they have some parts of the hollow body ... this affects the sound as discussed below.
_The Finishes are simply unacceptable for the price of guitars, 2500euros, it may require perfection: three guitars on the patent had lightweight defects. Strata 'standard half that price are better.
_A Les Paul by ca DEFINITIONS Agreement is evil, but when even the mcaniques OE are really cheap for a guitar this price.

UTILIZATION

I usually play on Start, and sometimes JS1000.
The handle 60 is closer to a handle of the Start 50 '.
However contrary to what everyone told me, the 50 'is not a log, it is enjoyable and easy to play (I have big hands).

The LP 2006 is heavy compared trs a stratum, but again nothing traumatic with a good strap.
The LP-2007 is much more because of lgre cavity.

OVERALL OPINION

It's a great guitar, legends, and with a sound that dtruit all. What I find most ESG is finishing and the quality of mcaniques for such a price. Level violin is currently well above PRS. The woods are lovely, however, all trs. It's the accessories that are less good.

The report quality is average trs. When I see that for the same price it was a McCarty or a custom shop Stratocaster (Fender also offers a laundry kit, a jack, a strap, etc. ...).

Remains sound. It's overtaking everything I said above. The PRS is better but its sound is intrinsquement compltement asptys act of Les Paul. It's the sound mythical, it's standard, and only for a, this guitar is exceptional.

I think I'll buy a 2006 with handle 50's one of those days. New MODELS seems be a mistake to Gibson, avoid.

UTILIZATION

I use it from birth ... 1979. Ele took a few white hair and some wrinkles (like me), but embellished over the years (unlike me), both in terms of its looks and especially his sound.

UTILIZATION

Handle my faith ... that of a Les Paul ... Therefore, an end to the base and well rounded.
But very enjoyable after a few minutes when you do not know this guitar.
For regulars, the handle of a Les Paul is a Les Paul neck (except the Classic ... a bit more end more ...)

The only snag is that playing sitting small problem.
For this one in any case, the weight has been revised since the last few years, Gibson has had the foresight to break the bodies of Les Paul, which has the effect of lowering the weight (and then some .. . 2 pounds between my 2003 and my Standard CUSTOM 80) and improved sustain.

In the early 60s Gibson was looking to make their guitars a bit easier to play. Fender was out selling them with their guitars so they had to change up the feel of their guitars. This eventually led to the Les Paul being replaced by the SG but before that they tried to fix some perceived problems with the Les Paul. This early 60s style Les Paul has a super thin 60s profile neck. Which is found on most SG guitars. This guitar has a mahogany body with a maple top. The set neck is mahogany with the mentioned 60s profile neck. It has a rosewood fretboard and a cool black finish. It has vintage looking aged green tuners. It has a set of Burstbucker pickups and the standard controls.

UTILIZATION

These guitars are very playable because of their 60s neck profiles. The body shape is standard Les Paul so most of it plays like a normal Les Paul. The 60s neck profile is something you find more on SG guitars. Gibson Les Pauls with these necks are pretty rare but when they make them they play really well. With these thinner necks you can really wrap your hand around them. These guitars have a really nice setup out of the box due to Gibsons Plek process. A Plek machine is a machine that uses a laser to level the frets on a guitar to crazy accuracy. This means the out of the box setup on these guitars are very good.

SOUNDS

This guitar has a great Les Paul tone. It has a full bodied mahogany sound which is what you expect when it comes to a Gibson Les Paul. The neck pickup is nice and smooth like you want with a Les Paul. The tone is perfect for blues or classic rock leads right out of the box. The bridge pickup has a nice hot rodded sound to it. It has a good crunch going that could do heavy rock. With some clean tones the guitar is good for blues and Jazz. With these pickups I dont think it would cut the mustard for a metal tone. If you are looking for that kind of sound you may want to swap in some Duncans or a set of active EMG's if you want the ultimate in metal tone.

OVERALL OPINION

The Les Paul Standard is what people think when they think Les Paul. There are models above and below it but this is the workhorse that more people have used throughout the years than any other. And throughout the years it has gone through changes. This guitar represents a certain era in the guitars history where it had its unique style and playability that stemmed from the needs and requirements of a guitar at that time. A lot of those needs are things people still want today. People like smaller necks because more people find them very comfortable to play. This is this models strong point. Gibson guitars is one of those companies that is just as iconic as many of the famous artists who have played them. These guitars have revolutionized rock an roll. They took what Fender build and compounded upon it to create a much better and more practical machine for the new age of distortion and overdrive guitars tones. To get the overdriven guitar tones of the 60's and 70's you could not achieve that with a Fender guitar and their classic single coil pickups.You much fort play it with humbuckers and then you need a heavier thicker body and preferably used mahogany wood as your base body wood.

SOUNDS

Every time I look at this guitar I think about ripping up some Ramble On or perhaps some dazed and Confused. This guitar just screams vintage classic rock and roll. This is a blazing guitar with a great feel and an exciting tone. The guitar just begs to be rode hard and put up wet. This is defiantly a players guitars and needs to be knocked around a while.

Play this guitar with a nice Marshal or British flavor amp and you'll see what rock n roll was back in the 70's. This guitar combined with a voicing of that famous British tone is just a match made in heaven. The tonal bliss of striking that first chord and letting it ring out in a blaze of heavy saturation gain is a thing or pure beauty. You won't want to put this guitar down for one second as soon as you get it home.

You can find these guitars pretty much anywhere. At new these guitars come in right at around $1999, which isn't bad for a solid sound great rock n roll Gibson Les Paul. You will have a lot of fun playing this guitar in a band or at home. It is a sweet sounding and beautiful looking guitar.
