Gibson SG clone made in Korea.
Model EG550
22 frets, two single-coil pickups hidden under silvery humbucker covers. High output level but it can easily generate feedback. I changed them for a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates (neck) and a SH 11 (bridge).
Gibson-style stop tailpiece and tune o matic.
2 volume controls, 2 tone controls.
U-profile neck, red plywood body, very nice dark burgundy varnish.
After cleaning and adjusting everything it looks great.

UTILIZATION

The neck is quite thick but fast, typical SG access to upper frets in spite of the strap pin behind the 13th fret. Typical Gibson short scale.
The guitar is rather light and sounds good in spite of its short sustain.
I can easily play AC/DC and hard rock now that I've equipped the guitar with Seymour pickups.

SOUNDS

The guitar is perfect for me.
I play it with a Marshall JMP 1 preamp feeding a Novanex or a Pandora PX3 and the sound is good.
It sounds just as good clean as with distortion.
In the beginning I thought its sound would be very high-pitched and I would have to replace the pickups with typical 70's models.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using it for one year and I've had no problem after cleaning the knobs and setting the overtones with 10-52 or 10-46 strings. It sounds good.
I payed almost nothing for it.
I would buy it again if I had the opportunity.
