Made in Coreée, accessories (U.S. pickups G & L Magnetic Field), Dual Fulcrum vibrato U.S. (although the mention Tribute suggests that it is outsourced to Asia ...)
22 jumbo frets, Fender modern in spirit. The handle (mapple on mine) is narrower than the standard strato U.S., and comparable in thickness. Time to adapt at first, and then it runs: run very fast.
A switch allows you to get out of the five positions is standard by adding together the three simple or severe acute mics together. We walk on the beds of the telecaster ...
The vibrato is surprising: very flexible (floating on travel light, but hard on the extreme deflections). Not obvious to the game wide (Van Halen) but very effective for the effects of light vibrato and bends which are double-righteous. Never worry-keeping agreement, and sustain guaranteed by massive and heavy block. Amazing.

UTILIZATION

A handle, it tries.
Here we are in spirit closer to Fender. The finish is not shiny like the Fender Vintage, but Matt (oiled?) Very soft to the touch, but sensitive to contamination (as it was a quick look ... old strat 57)
Access to acute is "strato" that is not good in absolute terms, but we know what its costs and sustain a handle screwed further ... So do not change anything!
The weight is not light. At all. It's a heavy guitar (ash forces) but be aware if you want sound!

SOUNDS

Sound, let's talk about: Everything is done for START ring of death: Over the strato strato.
I came with my Start U.S. Standard 89 in the store to compare: it did better in all registers: treble, bass, power (Ma Mia what fishing!) For the blues, the breath away. Perhaps the gentle arpeggios are they more convincing on my Fender, but if you want to attack the fat, the S500 makes it ten kilometers of entry. I even found a saturated quite convincing on the micro serious turning the low tone to a minimum. it sings amazing. This tone is amazing. This is not a simple filter on top as a stratum, but two types of different tone settings, applicable to the three microphones, a target parameter of the useful frequency ...
I would love to try the Legacy to be a little more "vintage" pickups with alnico with a lower output level, and probably a different character.
The S500 sounds modern, powerful, very blues and present. I use it on my POD 2.0 by repeating the Line6 flextone2 club and my Carvin tube on big stage. No background noise!
A big personality. Try to adopt it.
By the way why buy one U.S.?

OVERALL OPINION

I for one year, then I am already well-equipped guitars issue (I have the much more expensive), but it is a favorite. I'm playing right now covers of Dire Straits and the sound on stage is quite similar to that of the first albums. She even subtle grain of the road on Telegraph Schecter is saying ...

A case ... I would do without hesitation (I let a good try by Legacy Blue sunburst for once ... but is it reasonable?)

Added 01/05/08: G & L guitars are not imported! Hang on your own, the rating will go up ....
