Strum Acoustic GS-1 Released
By kon-tiki on 07/24/2008 at 19:58:33
Applied Acoustics Systems has announced the release of Strum Acoustic GS-1, a new acoustic guitar software synthesizer.
Strum Acoustic GS-1Based on the latest AAS physical modeling technology, Strum ships with a collection of steel and nylon acoustic guitars. We're told that it includes a voicing module which automatically voices chords played on the keyboard as a guitar player would on the fretboard. Strumming and picking actions are reproduced by an auto-strum function, special strumming keys, or MIDI loops. An EQ, a multi-effect, and a reverb module complete the package.

Strum Acoustic GS-1 is available now at a suggested retail price of $229. Strum Acoustics GS-1 runs on both Mac OS X and Windows as a standalone application as well as in host sequencers supporting the VST, Audio Units, and RTAS plug-in formats. Demo versions are available.

[NAMM] AAS Strum Acoustic GS-1
By Number-6_en on 01/16/2008 at 10:39:04
Applied Acoustics unveils their new plug-in, a virtual guitar named Strum Acoustic GS-1.
AAS introduces it like this : "Can't learn the guitar in time for your deadline. Your favorite session player is out of town. Romplers are not quite there. Strum is the just-right solution."
  • Play the chords you know and Strum voices them as a guitarist would.
  • Auto-strum chords or play them via strumming keys or MIDI loops.
  • Go from nylon to steel, from jumbo to concert, or from country rock to fingerstyle classical.
  • Add warmth with the EQ, lush with the chorus, and space with the reverb.

It will be out by the end of 2008's first quarter for Windows and Mac OS X (Universal Binary) as a VST/AU/RTAS plug-in.
