Grace Design m101 - "fixed coloring issues" - sw80
The Grace Design M101 will take care of any problems you are having and give you a crystal clear sound without any effort on your part. There are other modules that are similar to this one, but I still say this one is the best under 1000 bucks.

I think that this is a pretty cool microphone preamp because it has some pretty unique features. It's certainly geared to use with ribbon mics, so I'd say that's its primary market. The Grace Designs M103 is pretty expensive for a mono channel strip, but you are definitely getting a lot of features within this single box.
