hey, it's the old-school model we're talking about eh
there's only see the frequency ranges listed, the current EQ pedal does not play on the same frequency ... & It's really a shame!

UTILIZATION

very simple config is visual: mini knobs to up / down depending on the intensity you want to transmit to the EQ
frequency ranges are good if you are a bassist who wants a true spectrum worked, not just a bass / treble to ... "beep"

SOUND QUALITY

frequencies match the tac-tac-O, which are used to fast and without manual adjustment in the EQ
mine is a breath therefore attention huh volume knob (but I have to check to make here, the young girl ^ ^), except here it is effective top

OVERALL OPINION

well, you guessed it, the "+" of this pedal for me, it is the frequency ranges that I found most significant in shaping a real good full sound compared to other EQ on the market (young or old-fashioned)

I would do this choice of pedal without worry

The pedal is the alternative for bass players. This pedal is designed for the use of bass frequencies. If match this against the guitar version or the Boss GE-7 then you see a lot of the same sliders but with different numbers above each. The bands have center frequencies at 62Hz, 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz and 4Khz. Just like its brother the Boss Ge-7, this pedal will decrease or increase 15 db of volume to your overall bass guitar.

SOUND QUALITY

This pedal works great for bass guitar just like the Boss Ge-7 works great for the electric guitar. It boosts the right amount of frequencies and gives the added volume for driving your bass amp a little more. You can definitely get a good boost and a little bit of overdrive to you bass tone if desired. This is great for recording or playing live where a clean bass tone is dull and boring.

This pedal works for any amp and any guitar. It is nice addition to a bass player who has found his or her tone and needs to take it a step further. This pedal will make jumping that next hurdle in your tone. Some older bass amps don't get too dirty in the overdrive section. This will allow you to get a little bit of dirt on your tone so that you can drive the rhythm section a little better than before.

OVERALL OPINION

These pedals were discontinued back in 1995. You can find them on the used market but there are newer pedals that work just as good.If you use a bass amp that has a the right tone but you are lacking in certain frequencies then this is a great pedal to have

The Boss GE-7B is a graphic equalizer pedal that is designed specifically for bass guitar. It is an analog unit that has both a 1/4 inch input and a 1/4 inch output and is powered by either a 9 volt battery or power supply. It is not a rack mountable unit as it is a stomp box.

UTILIZATION

The make up of the Boss GE-7B EQ pedal is quite basic as it simply has seven sliders at fixed frequencies and another slider for overall volume level. While each frequency is fixed, this isn't too limiting because each is at a frequency that is related to the bass guitar. The pedal is overall easy to use as you simple use the sliders to get your desired cut or boost. I don't have the manual for the Boss GE-7B, but it really isn't necessary as it is simple in make up and use.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound of the Boss GE-7B is more than adequate and provides more than enough control over your sound. While this has a good inherent tone, its all about how you want to use it and what you want to do with it. It has the ability to add to your bass guitar sound on the stage and in the studio, but I would really only recommend it for live shows. I love the sounds I get from this pedal when I plug in my Fender P-Bass into it and always feel that I get the most out of this pedal.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using the Boss GE-7B bass guitar EQ for about two years and I definitely recommend it for the bass player looking to get a bit more control over their tone for live shows. While it is suitable for studio use as well, I only use it for live shows as I have other options for EQ in the studio. The price of the Boss GE-7B is about average but is definitely a good deal. Boss makes reliably built pedals that are priced right and will last a long time. Overall, the Boss GE-7B is worth checking out for all bass players.
