UTILIZATION

The configuration is simple. You plug the bass and immediately was the sound that kills.
The manual in English and Spanish is very clear and to find a sound to its taste quickly thanks to the presets provided.

SOUNDS

I, for one, connected a cab svt 410 HLF with this amp, so I use all the power.
My bass is a stingray 4 string chords with DR.
The sound is huge, it's Ampeg. There is some grain, it goes down very low and the medium is very aggressive.
I play in a group of punk-hardcore, and it should totally this musical style.

OVERALL OPINION

This configuration: + Ampeg Musicman, I have dreamed for a long time and now it's done, and I do not regret it at all.
However, I have a small problem to make. When I tried it for the first time, I found the sound much, but a little too clean, lacking a bit of grain.
So I opened the beast to see what tubes were installed, there was a well-GT Groove sticker on the amp, but I wanted to check. And what was my surprise to find that there was only one 12AX7 Groove GT and the other 3 were Sovtek very low end. Only the 12AU7 was quality, an Electro Harmonix.
So I decided to change all that. After some advice, I changed all the Sovtek 12AX7 LPS by and I have kept the EH is an excellent tube.
And then there is the day and night. We keep of course the signature Ampeg, but with a grain, a dynamic, aggressive, low spectrum multiplied by 100. In addition, the definition of sound is present all the time, regardless of the volume used.
What a shame qu'Ampeg not provide this amp with tubes of better quality.

I played a lot of amp, Marshall, Trace Elliot, SWR, GK, but no, not really, has this little something or other that makes the reputation of Ampeg.

I am more than satisfied. The price / quality ratio is excellent, I had everything (svt3 pro + svt 410 HLF) for just € 1900.

Nothing in the world, I would not change.

I hear some say that the sound is too typical. I do not agree. It is typed, it's true but certainly not too much, and the grain of the bass is present. Just compare a stingray with a Fender Precision for example, and you will see there is a difference.
After it is true is a matter of taste.
