OVERALL OPINION

I have a blackbox for 15 days. Without repeating what is above, here's a summary of my impressions.
1. The upgrade is essential. Do not try this first or you'll pinball!
2. Most
- 40 amp models realistic enough especially since he is the Mid setting. I do not care the resemblance to the originals. The sound really drives.
- Rhythms to work ... in rhythm.
- Lots of effects
- The output SPDIF 24-bit to enter a digital magneto. One would have expected the 16-bit product which is at first gadget.
- The function sound card. This is really two devices in one. A + preamp sound card.
3. The -
- Many effects completely useless gadgets as well as on stage in a mix. No phasing and chorus disappointing.
- History of the tempo sync delay is really a marketing gimmick. Any fool can do 60/tempo for the value of its delay. Example (for idiots) tempo = 112, 60/112 = 0536 set your delay to 536M or 268M half (or other multiple pairs). The thing I do often on my Magneto: delay 268m left, 536m on the right. It's a matter of 10s this little calculation then saves it in its pattern and here.
- Function shift painful to use. Finally, an update software can not add buttons on the machine!
- Some drum patterns are unsustainable. We really need an update so that we can create your own patterns or at least adjust the volume of the snare cymba and comics. It will never be a box Ryhmes because you can not create chaining but it should really have their hands on the patterns.

UTILIZATION

Simple enough, except for certain functions "secondary" as the mid setting, for example (where you have to first press a button twice to access). Otherwise it remains relatively affordable, which has used a multi-effects.

SOUND QUALITY

- Roland Jazz Chorus: micro in the neck position, perfect for small jazzy rhythms. The sound is very soft and very well defined
- Hiwatt DR-103: with my two simple configuration, there are a lot Pete Townshend. Well crunchy / rock, I love (talking 'bout my generation)
- Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier and Soldano SLO-100: it sends the bulk! The breath is "modest" for the simulation. Noise gate compulsory but it is effective and musical (in the version 2 firmware I specify)
- Ampeg SVT: it's true that having more 4 bass amp simulation at hand it does. Testing a Yamaha fretless on this emulation of the famous Ampeg SVT has been very surprising: the sound is well rounded and well defined.

OVERALL OPINION

All in all a very good machine. I bought it primarily as an amp simulator for the home studio and live (solo configuration: I use the power of 2 or 3 pieces in my small set).

Its other functions (including audio interface) are for me the most. They are not negligible and far from me, for example, will avoid investing in another audio interface mobile the day I need it.

I use it for more than six months, in the end I am satisfied for what I did (home-studio, apartment scratch, etc ...)!

This opinion concerns a Black Box set V1-date with the latest firmware (version Reloaded therefore equivalent).

We are facing a machine functionally trs complte, whether in terms of simulations (see notice of imrryr Retailer for the list) as accompaniments. It also becomes an interface audionumrique branch once a PC.

On the effects ... I'm not a big user of effects, so my opinion will only be succinct trs. OVERALL OPINION

I use it now for a year, mostly in simulation to the headphone, Because apartment living abroad + the + need for mobility.

MODEL bought "blind", at least not test before, just a Behringer V-AMP, which had not left a imprissable. The ending for Black Box will be in competition with a Pocket Pod, which I plutt bluff APRS a quick test.

If the quality-price ratio plutt good, especially having had the pdalier on the cheap with the Black Box, I'm not sure to buy one, spend the size prfrant sup SUPERIORCOURT prampli + simulation with HP.

The M-Audio Black Box was an all in one little jam station. The thing could do all kinds of stuff from drum loops, crazy effects, guitar modeling and more. It was super versatile, but it was only sold for a short period of time for whatever reason. To get the most out of it, you really need to hook up some sort of MIDI board to it or something as there are so many things you can do with it that it's very limiting to have to keep pressing those small buttons on the interface all the time.

UTILIZATION

The device itself is decent in terms of the way it's set up. If I wanted, I could simply put this through my amp's loop and run a few basic effects. That would work out nicely. Another thing I could do is have it act as a preamp and use my tube amps as a poweramp. There are tons of drum loops and stuff you can program, too. On top of all of that, you can even tune your guitar with this device. Scrolling through all the menus can be a bit of a pain, but I'm not exactly Mr. Tweaker here. I like simple setups most of the time. The less menu scrolling I have to do, the better. I never read the manual, so I can't comment on that.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound was pretty decent. There wasn't anything mind blowing going on here, but it didn't really sound bad. It sounded on par with a POD or any other modeler device like that. The thing that made this stand out was the drum loops. Those gave you that extra little bit that the other modeler devices out there didn't have. That's not to say the drum loops and programming are awesome; they're mediocre. However, it can work great for those who want some sort of all-in-one solution.

OVERALL OPINION

These can be pretty hard to find, but if you find one at a cheap price and need some sort of carry along solution to go with you when you travel, it could work out nicely. Everything sounds pretty decent, but it still sounds like a modeler. If you don't mind that aspect, check it out. You might be surprised.

I will not repeat all The characteristics (many) but I would add only that I Whereas as a Swiss army knife and a tool trs intressant. UTILIZATION

In fact, for a direct connection to an amp, I think it looks better on a hybrid amplifier (or transistor) on a real lamp (which I did everything normal parat)
As for the effects ... of course this applies can not be a good set of pedals, but compared to other multi-effects, I have no criticism to make ... and then he rated the price of a high-end pedal, do not forget!

I use it for a year.
