It should be noted first that I am not drummer ... but guitarist based ... I play acoustic drums as often as possible during répèts with my group and it was a few years I wanted an electronic home ...
My main selection criterion was the silence ... 'm in an apartment, I have neighbors, children, a wife and I want to play when I want! Having had experience with a colleague to hear the sound level produced bat kick, I naturally turned to the silent dtx400K and his bat (which seems highly displeasing to the real drummers ... The second criterion was the size of the beast ...

Very disappointed with the Roland HD1 (for GC once the bat is really too soft) I admit that I had a priori rather negative about this type of bats, a priori these are gone as soon as I put my feet on one of the dtx400K. I find it easier than the real bats, the answer is correct in my opinion, even if I'm going to throw rocks (I remind you that I am not drummer!) ... the only thing I fear above there is a real return on drums ... I would say that ...

I was looking for something easy to access ... not a module gasworks and it suits me perfectly ... integrated sounds are very good, everything is customizable and a few hours I have a kit with sounds that suit me, balanced.
Playing with the gain and velocity on each pad I end up with a drumkit that meets progressively as typing ... What happy ...
I tried to stick with Groove Agent, recognized without problem under Windows 7 and XP ...
Good snare rubber against ... I really do not like ... but I reparlerais after ...

I've had a little over a month. Daily use of one to two hours and some weekends marathons screwed onto the stool ... I would do the same choice without hesitation.

The only thing that bothers me a bit is the cymbals
- Non-chockables ... Too bad I'd midi!
- Simple but areas ... produce some wrinkles bell according to the intensity of the striking ... I made it ...

I had a budget of a thousand euros so I tried dtx 430K 450K, 550K, and a few references to the final at Roland I stopped on the following config:
- Dtx400K
- Pad Charley HH65 (middle position)
- Snare Roland PDX 100 (I did not like the pads kits yamaha 450 and 55O)

Suddenly, with a piti Crafts (Recycling sensor snare original controller mounted on the original HH and dual input jack in the GC) I end up with a drumkit with double bass drum pedal more and HH next Roland snare (without rimshots) for 750 euros ... and there if I have to note is 10 ...


To summarize:

most: very very quiet, compact (row is not 100 X 60 cm folded), the sounds are very good module, ease of use.
Cons: single zone cymbals and non chockables, snare rubber, given the limited development module.
