Use the following as needed Toneport GX XLR connections. Choice motivated by nice price for the atos USB 2.0 and amp simulations already known by the GX, which were enough for me (at the time). All that for models to cool.

My computer is a portable recent HP, 3 go ram, Intel proc pentium dual-core. Instruments used: Hohner Lespaul 89, bass Ibanez ATK 300 Shure SM 58 (I think, is that the singer ...).

USE

Are the drivers stable? Are they often updated? What software do you use most often? What you get lag? How many tracks you get to record / play time? ... *dropoff Window

Drivers: no worries, installation of gearbox terrain.
Software: mostly Acid Pro and Ableton on end.

Recorded track one by one, not tried pluysieurs both. Read tracks: a package worry free as Acid.
Correct latency, not measured, but has not scratched my ears!

IMPLEMENTATION

The installation is done it without problems? Have you experienced any incompatibility? Is the general configuration is easy? Is the manual clear and sufficient? ... *dropoff Window

Instal carefree XP (old pc) and Vista. No incimpatibilité including OS (tested on mac).

The config is simple hardware: 2 volume knobs mic and general. Soft less fun (I said that I had the old UX1, red box) boring drop-down menus for guitar presets, base and vox. All very intuitive (return by General menu to try to find the last preset used).

Simulations: big gimmick LINE6, but ... a lot of guitar presets, a little less for the bass and one for voice qq certainly combinations galore amps, cabinets, effects, re-indeed, impossible to possibilities do in his real small apartment (virtual distance to a microphone in front of the amp, etc), re-re-SOUNDS ... but certainly NOT ALWAYS THE HEIGHT! Especially after discovering Guitar rig and other types vst Ampeg ...

Using the Toneport GX 1 year, the UX1 for 6 months. My first audio interfaces, no regret or concern eventually. on the other hand, it is clear that we must pass beefier soon as one progresses computer music (MIDI necessary in my case).

Pros: all terrain crash zero!
the -: Many sim but eventually some really usable (matter of taste, of course ...), knock box (super light resistant?), not scalable (MIDI zero ... but the saiten buying it).

With experience? A good choice for me at the time (Cygnus means nine is a bit expensive!). Now I want a card with better converstisseurs without embedded sim, and would use plugins + delivered its serious level.

I bought this sound card because I was satisfied with the new range of amp "Line 6 Spider IV" which sends heavy for not very expensive (HD 150w is really a big plus!).
So after some positive reviews I decided to take me this soundcard so-called "extraordinary" for my songs.

I paired this software on my Laptop PC with a config that should be no problem (4GB ram and graphics card / motherboard / processor that fit perfectly the way). (Problems I got a package and oddly I'm not the only one to have had ..)
And software "Pod Farm 2.5" or "Guitar Rig 5" I was recording live as everyone on "cubase 5" or "audacity".


Against by the object itself is junk ...
The disign pass but against we feel that the materials are not of good quality and the weight should not exceed 200g.

UTILIZATION

The drivers are stable I can not comment on this point. I had no problems installing or adapter settings, everything is easy to do so just follow the manipulations to take.

I recorded most often on cubase 5 and audacity:

I have almost everything said above, but I go back to the fact that the synchronization of multiple track is poorly regulated and that despite the accuracy and ease of use in the end the result is bad.

I never had any problems of incompatibility, and I confess lucky because it is one of the most circulated on this sound card problems.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this card for almost 2 years now and with the experience I do not have that choice.

I tried a sound card in the same medium "m-audio" and I bitterly regret my choice.

The only feature that I liked is the ease of use. Most often in sound cards, drivers must be sought from both other and spend hours for optimizations while there everything is very simple and sufficient. We would see it everywhere ..

The feature I liked least is the sound ... Yet these are not pregnant who have concerns (Yamaha HS-50 that I sold and now replaced the speakers hercules same quality). The sound is not natural at all, I can spend hours and hours mastering for a professional look. And not to go because of the tracks ..

The value really means, it should not really expect much from competitors while we still feel a sound that corresponds to our expectations.

I will average only software available and easily downloadable patches. Otherwise my score would have been 4.

The drivers are stable enough. I think it's my PC that does not follow unless the POD manages less low frequencies. Not impossible, but I can not say because I have not tried the POD on a PC type "lightning war"!

I can not remember the software I used but it must be avoided at all costs because it has too audacity latency (which can not be reduced more).

OVERALL OPINION

This is my guitarist who lent it to me. My goal was to use it to record songs bass and lead me all the headphones.

To train it happens if you are not picky about sound, honestly with my warwick active in a small mixing desk I had better sound.

To record a bass sound, if it is believed that it is low doung doung in the bottom piece by completely fucking nuances of sound and heat so it can go (and again). If you're picky like me bah it does not!

The main criticism I have is that the sound produced by the POD is fairly flat and not sanitized organic sub. And especially the sound always comes too in a mix (I do not know why, perhaps too compressed?). Short to avoid to make home studio quality. Much better move on the Two Notes, much better but much more expensive (normal quality at a price).

My needs:
an audio interface with converters correct, a mic or guitar input, 1 output, low latency, a MIDI interface to a keyboard. Eéventuellement, I was looking for the possibility of using the sounds of POD live or plugin for cubase.
The Toneport studio corresponded to almost all of these needs, but I hesitated a lot because it has no midi interface. Finally I prefer to take the simple interface, a very low price and quality simultaneously present.

Podfarm
Podfarm creates its sounds like a multi-effects. The simulations are those of the pod XT and it is possible to buy packs of amps / effects and more.

For € 115, we have a very complete equipment is more than enough to record a track guitar, microphone or other source. Everything is included except the headset and the USB cable to connect the beast of an amp. The audio / MIDI sequencer, however, is far below the level of equipment.

I regret the absence of the midi interface but it is not the purpose of the device. But I would gladly pay 20 € more for it.

One can still find the old UX1 red € 85 € 10 postage. It is therefore only € 20 difference. For me, buying the UX1 Sutdio (black) is justified by the fact that I can use in podfarm plugin directly into Cubase.

The interface is specified as 24 bits / 96 khz but I can not currently do as 24/48. Faloir I will dig a little ...

UTILIZATION

The installation was trouble-free, no inconsistency. Software, except for the sequencer is very easy to use.

The manual? Not have to ... But it is available and more complete versions are available on the line6 site. However, I put in place for a beginner to the terms monitoring, latency, send, plug-and company are not known: it will actually operate the galleys for the craft. Given the simplicity of the device so the target, a more didactic tutorial would be desirable.

By against, having to connect online to confirm the activation of moudle, bouuuuuuuuh! Shame! Must register, to login, enable the bazaars ... This is certainly an easy way to lute against piracy but it annoys the honest user. For that alone, I would not put more than 5 / 10.

I like pod farm, easy to use, but I still downloaded the old gearbox I use too (podfarm is supposed to replace). In all cases, the effects are simple to configure, provided the models are really bluffing and are obtained more than enough quality for what I did (models).
Flat on the chaining of effects: it is not possible to combine them at will and you can only use one instance at a time modulation. it can be annoying to live, it is not in cubase plugin mode because you can link the plugins and even mix them with other plugins (Amplitube, guitar rig ...)
Compared to a guitar rig, it is certainly easier to access but is more pro guitar rig and modular.

Already mentioned, but I repeat: the sound quality is really good. It is possible to add amp packs (eg metal pack) but by paying. The offer to $ 45 includes all packages and in reading the reviews, seems to bring a big plus. I do not need it yet.

For latency, playing live with gearbox or podfarm alone, no problem! It is immediate. When we came under direct monitoring with cubase, it gets worse. The default settings gave me 20 ms total (input + output). It is noticeable and annoying. I adjust the settings and I'm at 8-9 ms. Below, it cracks. So either I have not caught on the concept of monitoring, it is cubase plugin or just add latency. I'll have to also addresses that. I do not think my stuff is the cause PC (Core 2 3.4 Ghz, 2 GB)

OVERALL OPINION

It's been two weeks that I use, I'm happy. I love his sound and stability. I boos activation over the Internet. I regret the lack of midi interface.

The value for money is good when you consider the offer hardware + software and the effects and amp simulations. I do not know what it is worth compared to an audio interface / midi-type or E-mu Edirol.

I found the forums that a lot of users had problems with latency. I have more but I find bizare of having to very aggressive settings in cubase to get something viable when in live is impeccable.

In any case, for € 115, I really something very comprehensive.

I was looking for a simple audio interface includes amp simulations and effects to make the composition.
My config is simple. Dell Inspirion 1720 laptop.
I use it with a telecaster and a Yamaha bass.

I use it for two days. I had the earlier stages Line6 guitar port which j'tais dj rev happy.
I like its ease of use, the quality of the simulations are quite impressive.

I use it with Acoustica Mixcraft 4 and 5, which also is simple to use and powerful. (I added a plug-in De-esser for problem ssss condenser microphone with B2-Pro Berhinger which is powered by a small mini mic preamp from the same brand and an anti pop into the microphone.
I have no latency problem because I work directly on the headphone jack on the UX1.


GETTING STARTED

Installation and configuration is "peace of cake" that is very easy.
I had a problem of drivers with the latest version 3.7.2 Gear Box I returned to the basic version.
Finalmente I decided not to use the built-in effects for recording audio and add them later in the mix mixcraft which is cleaner and allows for all possible adjustments


OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 years and frankly to my level of an amateur musician, it is quite sufficient.
Very good value for money.
