clean finish, anodized brushed aluminum facade blue ^ ^ great effect, shell folded sheet steel of 1mm very hard (perhaps a choice of technology to dissipate the heat generated by the lamps is still quite significant : /
Oh and the lamp housing, conspicuous through the small window is lit by two small LEDs showing the orange color of backlight is very nice ^ ^ ^ ^ show

Instructions clear and well illustrated - no problems of understanding for me.

UTILIZATION

So I've had a little over a week and I think I have mastery 80%

This is my first groovebox hardware and I was really surprised by the ease of use when the possibilities of the machine!

SOUNDS

.. Sounds much safe than it's heavy! The circuit has lights has the power to warm the sound of a force: /

Just listen to the patterns of plant to realize it; personal, I particularly liked Trance4, 5, 9 trance with a demo of frightening possibilities of the form xD (a female voice that is surprisingly aéaéa realism ^ ^), trance, 14 and 3 HTrance> excellent!

I'll try to put online in mp3 demos of these patterns arranged by me ^ ^

OVERALL OPINION

Overall, I am fully satisfied, purchased during 8months old € 300, no regrets, it is a machine tubes! (Not that still intubated cigarettes) but enchaine pieces on each other is so intuitive!
Good backups are done in the smart media is more ideal, but there are adapters today for € 20 ..

I would put a 10/10 because nothing bad to say ^ ^
-One last thing, KNTO, certainly it's not coffee, but it is already warm it ^ ^

UTILIZATION

very simple configuration, after over an hour with the manual, it is already beginning to make its mark!

Manual well supplied but clear enough

once you start to learn and memorize the locations of each setting is a real treat to play with!

SOUNDS

sounds very good, there's something for every taste, from the piano synths through the strings and synth guitars for the game, and plenty to do for the drums.

For my part, by grinding a little knobs I think there is always something to do! we never tire of it!

OVERALL OPINION

having recently purchased used I do not regret my purchase at all, many sounds, somewhat amazingly simple to spend 15 minutes on the manual is a versatile machine that I recommend to all!

I use it since 2008, with esx and Others, and I always find things on, I do not regret at all, the intuitive aspect of the composition on this machine for me is his strong point, after noise and opportunities there are much better, but this is not the same price and often less intuitive

OVERALL OPINION

I came back from decemmbre 2008.je the hardware after a frustrating experience in the world of vsti.j love all sounds except the brass and whatever the machines.de anyway everything is editable and lamps add beaucoup.j 'reluctant even to buy a second case or before the end of their manufacture.

The functions that I tested:
- A percussion section of course very typical electro
- A section sufficiently advanced analog synth (3 oscillators, several types of modulation, ...) with an equivalent step sequencer
- 3 sections of effects we want as little chaining
- Sequencer
- Comprehensive MIDI implementation.
...

UTILIZATION

I do not know what type of machine, but the interface is well designed and used to it quickly.
The manual is fairly well designed.
I would put just a little flat on the use of functions mute / solo that is not always what you want (unless I still lack experience).
Recording from an external sequencer is possible but do not expect to record a melody. Done before for playing / recording rhythmic sequences (bass line, ...).


SOUNDS

The drum sounds are very good in a style electro / trance / dance.
On the synth part, you come to have bass sounds that sound good (still some electro style of course). Combined with the effects and the step sequencer (motion seq) we arrive to get really nice stuff that I think is impossible to obtain with another machine.

The lamps are used in my opinion not much. They tend to generate distortion and saturate the sound. JJ ECC83 with lamps, there is no such saturation, but I wonder what they serve.



OVERALL OPINION

This is my first machine of this type and I did that for a month but the possibilities seem endless.
For more traditional percussion and realistic we must turn to another machine but for the electro / trance / techno it's great.
Value for money good for about 300 € in opportunity (for a machine that had qu'1mois!)

Very limited features. The key about the EMX-1 is its ease of use. Again this is a GREAT "first synth". Noobies won't be bogged down, it definitely has a low learning curve.

Price paid: 800$ (factory price)

UTILIZATION

This is the key here. Exceptional ease of use on the EMX-1. I really want to put a thank you out to Korg for making a synth that a noob can pick up and start making dance/techno/trance, even DnB. This is a AWESOME learning tool for new guys and will get you the basics on producing really fast. There has never been an easier starting place.

SOUNDS

The synthesis engine on the EMX-1 (the same as the microkorg) is a decent but lacking digital analog engine. Compared to most other analog modeling synths out there, you will be dissapointed. However, for a beginner with little knowledge of synth programming or just looking for a first step synth, it delivers. The sound can sound very "digital" at times, very "tinny" and metallic. It takes some really good tweaking to get a phat analog warmth to it, even though korg puts a vacuum tube to add "warmth". Its hard but it IS possible.

OVERALL OPINION

Very durable, metal/steel plating, sturdy construction. Only complaint is the cheap plastic knobs.

The love I feel for this synth is the kind of love one feels for a first kiss or first love. This synth was my first kiss with music! Brings back a lot of memories. Like all first loves, your time with this synth (if you have the talent and drive) is limited and you will soon move on to more powerful stuff, but my first song was created on this and I will never forget what the EMX-1 gave me; the gift to make music for the first time in my life!
