The DOD FX52 Classic Fuzz is a really simple fuzz pedal designed for use with electric guitar, but is suitable for any electronic instrument. It is an analog pedal that has a 1/4 inch and output and is powered by either a 9 volt battery or a 9 volt power supply. It is not a rack mountable unit as it is a stomp box.

UTILIZATION

The make up of the DOD FX52 Classic Fuzz pedal is just about as basic as it gets, as it only contains three knobs for volume, tone, and fuzz. All users should have no problems at all with this pedal because of this simple configuration of this pedal. I don't have the manual for this pedal, but it is really easy to use and it isn't necessary.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound of the DOD FX52 Classic Fuzz is about average, but is definitely usable and is good for use on the stage. I've only used this pedal with electric guitar, but it is suitable for keyboards or bass guitar if you so choose. The fuzz is pretty nice, but at times can come off a little tinny and not as full bodied as one would like. This being said, the DOD FX52 Classic Fuzz is fine for live shows, but I wouldn't really recommend it for use in the recording studio.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using the DOD FX52 Classic Fuzz for about five or six years and while I like this pedal, it isn't my favorite fuzz pedal by a long shot. The price is what makes this pedal such a good deal as you get a pretty good fuzz sound for a dirt cheap price. It isn't exactly made all that sturdily, but should be okay as long as you treat it well. If you are looking to spend close to no money to get a decent fuzz pedal, the DOD FX52 Classic Fuzz is indeed worth a shot.
