I have a Fender Stratocaster 1989 US, and I wanted to change the original pickups that seemed a bit bland.
After reading various opinions on the site, I contacted Marc Aimar by Mail. His response was very fast, and after a few email exchanges I decided to set a Gilmourish that seemed best to correspond to what I was looking for.
The order placed, I received the plaque eight days later.
I installed it quickly and I was disappointed because the background noise was very important.
I contacted Marc Aimar mail to signal this anomaly and after some discussion it made me realize that I had reversed the son on the base of the jack.
After repair, I was immediately enchanted.
The sound of the pickups is very accurate, very balanced. All strings sound and have a lot of depth.
The neck pickup is round and warm, with serious fine or if you want slamming There are many dynamic and can qualify his game from mild to more aggressive. He sings well
The middle pickup is very well balanced but slamming it expresses variations attack pick.

Wanting to get closer to the sound Direstraits first albums, I threw myself into buying this kit.
These microphones are mounted on a magnificent replica of a Pensa Shur developed by an excellent luthier (Thibault) I salute the way.

I wanted to order a set of pickups for my Fender Stratocaster Highway 1, which seemed to be a good basis for improvement but I really did not play because of the sounds that came out ... Information taken (and thanks to Audiofanzine user reviews), I contact Marc Tornado MS which suggests to me a set of two "Texas Hot" in the neck and central and a "Gilmourish" saddle.

In addition, I asked the assembly of these mics on a shield and Marc took care of me for wiring, installation and finishing. The result is well above my expectations and found a wiring old son with fabric, beautiful welds and quality parts "shop" (I had never seen a capacitor tone also impressive for its size!). For the options, I enjoys tone knobs "No-Load" that render sound in its entirety without filtering when 10 and a push-pull on the volume which allows me to activate the neck pickup and enjoy and 7 positions instead of five traditional positions. I wanted a vintage single coil sound high quality but by reducing the lens side that is typically found on the Stratocaster ... My friends, what was my surprise!! I use this set "custom" for a few days now and my guitar was transformed, transcended!

The Gilmourish is a simple on-wound micro to make it less crystalline and more powerful than traditional single microphone. The result is an impressive level of output, a warm and accurate sound, very comfortable in overdrive or distortion, but especially a grain to fall!

Gilmourish the saddle feels the 60 and 70 full tubes with relatively dark vintage character. This mic has a lot of personality as its general tone is the opposite of a traditional Stratocaster pickup. Here, the sound is not very bright and it is quite a bump in the high-mid and low-mid. Attention is still remains on single coil pickups, but sometimes I seem to hear a Gibson SG with humbucker splite ... Comparison made with my SG-X 1994 has a 500 T splitable, actually it is not far!

I love this mic, its clear or crunch / overdrive / saturated because it has a real personality, a unique sound!

Like his classmates, the Gilmourish great respect for the emotions and the slightest variation in the pick attack feels. Bandwidth is amazing and the microphone is never too aigrelets or deaf. The sound is "full" everywhere!

It is certain that this set does not necessarily suit everyone, microphones with a strong personality and this time I did not find it "Stratocaster" but rather "Strat that has the cough!" This is exactly what I wanted and I'm really pleased to have contacted Mark for making this plate.

These single-coil pickups are the best I have ever heard so far, just! In addition to sound quality, they are perfectly suited to my needs.

I did not know that Fender products in terms of single coils pickups. Apart from the origin of my Highway 1 pickups, I've listened to and played microphones "American Standard" and microphones Fender Custom Shop '60 's, because I am the proud owner of a '60 Stratocaster Relic Olympic White ... I will also tell you a secret ... It is likely that the set L Series in '60 Tornado MS comes piggyback on this guitar quickly ... In fact, I think my Highway 1 sounds better than the Custom Shop now say it!

Two weeks ago my Gilourish set is mounted on my Stratocaster U.S. 1996, and the sound is perfect, just what I was looking for a strat sound. The origination microphones were very soft, they were not distinguishable sound wood and typical strat. So I changed to the Fender Custom Shop 69. The sound was good, but too dry, not enough presence on the bridge pickup, it was in my opinion, not enough personality. So, I had been very satisfied with PAF 59 that I mounted on my LP, so, neither one nor two, I contacted Marc, which again, was great, and a great patience. I assure you that I was really clumsy. I buy there one month this set of pickups and since I jous with this new set I keep discovering new sounds that I had never explored yet.

The neck pickup sounds really is the hottest and most open of the three. Really nice to play the blues.

The pickup in the middle is a little more round the ear. Really nice to play mainstream jazz.

The bridge pickup on the other hand it really is the most winding of the three and takes great distortions. I use a fuzz Analogman and I can admit that the sound that are too heavy, you will understand what I mean. Playing without the distortion pickup sounds very crystalline.

Basically, I am very satisfied with the quality of the product and if I had to buy microphones I will opt for a set of micro Marc without hesitation.

Microphones installed this weekend on a maple fingerboard Strat American Standard 2000 instead of the original pickups.
These latter seem to me without any relief the neck pickup was not bad, the non-existent middle and bridge a little garish. So the intermediate positions did not satisfy me either.
A quick handshake with Marc and microphones has arrived barely a week. This is pro, nothing to say.
Easy installation, a few adjustments here and finally the sound I expect from my Strat.

I bought one in June 2011 American Standard Strat. I dreamed for years, and I ordered it online.
Very nice guitar, violin impeccable, but what a disappointment side microphones!
It sounded tight, twangy on the bridge pickup, and no personality.
After some research on the forums, I was advised to contact Marc.
Gilmour and Knopfler fan, I am facing this set Gilmourish.
Not being super confident to change myself mics, I bought the stuff for me redo a full pickguard.
Marc has guided me, and I've ordered a set Gilmourish, and I was completely wired (total € 250 with microphones!). Gear received in a week, mounted in 30 minutes.
Great job, really a good quality microphones, cabling really like the Custom Shop (vintage), and it has nothing to do with the original wiring.
I recommend without hesitation! In addition, if we can win a French craftsman rather than a big American firm, it pleases me as an idea.

I think this set is very balanced, it really looks like the guitar breathes deeply.
Since then, Fender has revised his copy and handed the CS 50 series on American Std (with 100-150 € more of course, as how their microphones rotten it was to save ...).
Compared to the original set of my strat, the output level of the microphone is not very high (but at least it is balanced because the bridge pickup's original strat was too strong compared to others).
I was looking for a good balance of Gilmour and Knopfler and this is exactly that. Not as typical as the Texas Special, but more colorful than the original pickups.
I also have a Mexican Strat equipped with the famous EMG DG20 set. The output level EMG is significantly higher (and does very well out defects guitarist ). The sound is really great, I also love. Perfect example for "Shine on you ...." or Marillion, top with a small chorus. But it is very different. Smoother, less character.

And "last but not least," if you have the opportunity to get a compressor pedal Boss CS2 (yes, the first Gilmour ...), the sound is simply outstanding with this set of microphones! It moves serious and can really bring out different nuances depending on our game can have an output level of mind-blowing! For comparison, the EMG DG20 in the same pedal are completely suppressed.
