The morning of Christmas I found under the tree, my brothers, a small package the size of a harmonica cases! Me rushing to open there Vait a Hohner Marine Band in G!
(I spare you the details of the day, it has no interest ...)
I use it for over 6 months and I must say quite intensely. I wanted to take me to Neil Young, who frequently used this tone in his folk songs and Bob Dylan and I ended up quite well!
A beautiful stainless steel harmonica and box wood lacquered pear is what it says on the site ... I do not know what that means, but I have another mattress with plastic and the difference is obvious!
I had another Hohner series just below in the and it was not bad, but he's the best! A very brilliant, aptly and overblows for a good blues are great!
An unbeatable price / performance ratio as hand made in Germany (considering the price could easily doubt). I would do this choice with his eyes closed!

I use Marine Band for 9 years. That harmonica reference throughout the world and only one Marine Band sounds like a Marine Band: organic and rustic. That's why I keep coming back.

Sortont maintaining the quality of the stamp and let's look at the accuracy. If the model is eternal, its holding of the tuning (and that of all the Hohner diatonic) is not, as the practitioners who love the harmonica sound of the Marine Band has several options:
- Change them regularly,
- Adjust the blades regularly,
- Change blades with those of a competitor of Hohner.

Oddly enough, all my Marine Band in G have not encountered a single failure for the other tones: the blades break. Note, for against the Marine Band is more durable than the Special 20 auxs blades hyper sensitive and fragile.

It is not the easiest harmonica for a beginner I suggest that rather a Lee Oscar (easier to play and excellent performance of the agreement but its acceptisé) or a Hohner Special 20.

To sum up: many flaws, but a unique sound that takes guts.

PS: This is the best harmonica that takes on a slide harmonica.

This must be about 35 years I play guitar and Marine Band harmonica on a rack or by hand.
Despite several infidelities with blues harp, for example, I quickly returned to good old standard. The sound may be somewhat less accurate than the blues harp, but the bends are deeper, and the sound is much richer in harmonics. It is precisely small differences tuning I think ... Like a piano ....
on the other hand, they should be changed often, it's hard to keep more than 1 year if they play regularly.
The key of G has a fault, a slip case in a short time, or so I've noticed since 2 or 3 years. I've already changed 2 and for the next knock on wood.
Finally, for a price after all low, at around 30 euros, do not complain, after all, you change the strings to see 3 times 4 per year, it returned the same .....

The Hohner Marine Band is a basic diatonic harmonica that is in the key of C. I don't believe that they make this in other keys, but I could be mistaken about this. It's a pretty thin harmonica compared to the other ones that I have and I have used, but it definitely doesn't have a thin sound. Although I don't claim to be a professional harmonica player, I have played it a bit here and there and this is definitely one of the best harmonicas that I've played before. It feels good to play and is easy to shift from note to note. It has a pretty full sound to me, but certainly sounds similar to many harmonicas out there. It's definitely great for playing blues more than anything else, as it just seems to have that sort of sound. It comes with the little case shown in the picture above, so you can keep in clean and even carry it with you if you want! I'm not really sure why they call this the 'Marine Band' harmonica, to be honest. While it isn't the cheapest harmonica out there, it's still a great place to start if you're serious about playing the harmonica since it's so easy to play. Of course you'll probably want to branch out with harmonicas in other keys, but if you just want to get your feet wet or if you want to get a really nice harmonica in the key of C, this is probably the way to go. You can certainly find harmonicas cheaper, many of them from Hohner, but you won't find too many this nice for this price. I wouldn't say that it's expensive, but most harmonicas will be cheaper for sure. For this reason it's probably best suited for the player who wants to take their sound to the next level, but is equally adequate for beginners and harmonics players on all levels.
