I just came back to this website a few months back, it seems like they are more people doing home recording than going out on stage and playing live before a living breathing audience.
I just joined a band and we spent a few months getting ready, rehearsing and getting it all tight and ready to give it loud and dirty to people .
First night, we opened for some local band, who has a semi loyal crowd.
We did mostly covers and some originals, after the first song, the audience was silent, I thought that they didn't like us , so we rolled thru our set, after about the 8th song, the reaction was , WOW !!!!
After we were done, the owner of the club wanted us back for the whole next week end.
By the second night, the Fire Marshall came to the club owner because they're were too many people in .
Playing live is a totally different water to swim in than just recording .
Do any of you guys still go out and play live ?
Is Pay to Play, destroying your music scene ?
Are they anymore live venues in your city or town ?
