Korg nanoKONTROL Control Surface for GarageBand

Korg has announced the release of the nanoKontrol Control Surface plug-in for GarageBand/Logic, a new plug-in designed to improve performance with Apple's GarageBand and Logic when using Korg's nanoKontrol Slim-Line USB Controller hardware.

This plug-in is in response to worldwide requests from many users of the nanoKontrol and both GarageBand and Logic, the company assures.

Because Apple's GarageBand doesn't allow users to assign CC settings, previously there was no way for users to customize MIDI controllers, according to Korg. The plug-in for Logic is designed to offer simplified settings - manually assigning settings in Logic can be very difficult and the template used by Korg requires installation in a way not recommended by Apple.

However, by using the "nanoKONTROL Control Surface plug-in for GarageBand/Logic" installation is done as recommended by Apple and nanoKontrol works with Logic Pro without complicated settings, the company says.

Korg's nanoKEY and nanoPAD can be used with GarageBand without any plug-in required.

Functions that can be controlled:

• Transport
• Volume/Pan/Mute/Solo for each channel
• EQ
• Effect send
• Software sound source

Note: Users can control after 9th channel.
