Trouble-free installation. The virtual instrument is running kontakt, so naturally, it is with the service center of native instruments that we manage the key, and that will make the updates.
The configuration is simply nonexistent. Is installed, it works, the manual is clear and precise, but not absolutely necessary to start having fun.

Installation sans souci. L'instrument virtuel se fonctionne sous kontakt, donc tout naturellement, c'est avec le service center de native instruments que l'on gère la clé, et que se font les mises à jours.
La configuration est tout simplement inexistante. On installe, ça marche, le manuel est clair et précis, mais absolument pas nécessaire pour commencer à s'amuser.

Suitability/Performance
I have a big machine (i7 2600k, 16GB DDR3 ram ...) so no problem there. According to some tests, the instrument is more processor intensive, but less RAM than its counterparts, which makes sense, given its mode hybrid bank mid / mid "synthesis".
Without certainty, I would, however, that the whole is generally more demanding than a beast library, because of the treatment "intelligent" sound.

Je possède une grosse machine (i7 2600k, 16Go ram ddr3...) donc pas de problème à ce niveau. D'après quelques tests, l'instrument est plus gourmand en processeur, mais moins en Ram que ses homologues, ce qui est logique, vu son mode de fonctionnement hybride mi banque / mi "synthèse".
Sans certitude, je dirais cependant que l'ensemble est globalement plus gourmand qu'une bête librairie, à cause du traitement "intelligent" du son.

Overall Opinion
I use it since its release, and I'm not at my first VST. It is not complicated, it crushes the competition at all points of view (scope, flexibility, realism ...).
Beware though, the recording of sound in an anechoic chamber, so no reverb, can seem daunting at first. But this is actually a blessing because the instrument is free of any coloration. However, it is possible to activate a reverb (the Early reflections, more precisely, which can change the volume and delay) inside of the instrument, not to be stuck with a live sound too dry.
Of course, the downside is that its anechoic, if not intelligently processed to return consistently in the acoustic space, can be illogical. But anyway this is a recurring problem of VSTi.
My solution was to use the hybrid reverb VSL combined with numerical filters TILT sound, also available at VSL.
In summary, an instrument that is both accessible and incredibly expressive. Surely this is the future of Mao.
