had this for some time and it wasn't until yesterday tht I learned I was suppose to get a footswitch with it and didn't, attempted to find a source to purchase one from behringer only to be told they don't come with the footswitch now, and the footswitch is discontinued so I asked for a schem to see if I could use a different vendors switch and was told no because I am not a certified repair partener. this would have been the end of it except the behringer employee got snotty when asking why I waited 2 years and as I had already told him I wasn't even aware it was suppose to have came with one till I looked at the manual yesterday. i have repaired this amp myself a total of 8 times since buying it new because right after the warranty expired it started failing, well last night i went ahead and cracked her open to do a complete and thorough inspection and find a whole slew of problems ranging from missing 100pf capacitors on the footswitch board to a blob of solder UNDER a couple of the electrolytic caps ( which i have never replaced).

in a nutshell the quality is substandard as is the apparent lack of QC at the factory, after removing the solder from under the caps ( and by under i mean on top of circuit board underneath the caps NOT the solder pads)it satrated to work better than it ever has, i also bought a footswitch today from a local pawn shop for 10.00 and the switch doesn't work on the amp but causes the channel selection and effects to go wonky and not work when plugged in. after spending all day looking i found the old randall footswitch is correctly wired, functioning and SHOULD work with the GMX212, however there are 2 x 100pf surface mount caps shown on the schematic which locates them on the tiny circuit board where the footswitch plugs in yet the actual tiny circuit board is MISSING these 2 caps, so i ordered them in hopes that it fixes the footswitch.

to be honest i would advise against this amp or any other behringer product based on poor customer service ( actually lack thereof) and look for something else.

while at it avoid anything from any sister companies or close partners of behringer to include Bugerra. there are far better amps with better quality than this one.

I purchased this item off of Ebay for $235. I bought it mainly because my old amp took a dump on me and I needed something for the next show.

I like almost everything, i love the built in effects adn the distortion. The distortion, I think, was better than my Boss DS-1. This thing is extremely loud, I haven't needed to put it past 5 yet! The 2 Jensen speakers kick too.

Not really a whole lot to dislike, except 2 things, it weighs a ton(not that big of a deal), adn that it loses about half volume when played clean. Otherwise an AWESOME piece of equipment!

Awesome quality, I've dropped mine twice and absolutely nothing happened.

This is an awesome amp for any style, any skill level, any situation. Awesome tone and sound. Also very loud. Extremely well built. Buy it now!

What's not to like.The unit looks good and has rear connections for midi,extension speakers,headphones,effects send/return.99 built in fully tuneable effects so you can create any sound you would want.3 amp models +3 modes+3 speaker settings giving plenty of combinations.Also two channels operated through the included footswitch which also turns the effects on/off.so you can leave different settings on each channel.low,mid and high knobs+a drive control for each channel.Crank up the drive and the level and stand back.Built in tuner is quite handy

footswitch only turns the effects on or off,be nice if you could scroll through them.Also only one input for guitar when this baby could easily handle two

I bought this one online at Same Day Music.com, they have a lower shipping charges. I had a Fender Deluxe 112 plus that put out 90 watts of power but didn’t have the crunch I was looking for.
Well I was looking at the new Spider amps from Line 6 but since they are harder than hens teeth to find and I needed an amp I took a chance with Behringer. I have a good friend that owns a Behringer bass amp and that amp was very sound for the money.
I paid 250 dollars and shipping wasn’t very much more, 9 bucks I think.


This amp has THREE killer settings! Tweed, for the Fender fans and it sounds good too. British for the Marshall/Vox type sounds and Californian for their Mesa type sounds. All of these settings can be used either with Clean, Hi Gain, or HOT! Take into consideration that this amp also has three Cabinet settings too, Flat, UK and US which helps to change the tone just that much more!

It has Two channels that can be set to your needs and comes with a two switch foot controller that can which between channel and turn on or off the cool 24 bit effects. This amp has a neat little tuner on board too, it’s nice a simpe the way a tune should be and you can change the A tone from 440 hz up or down 15 hz.

Now the effects range from reverb, chorus, flang, phase, rotary, echo, delay and a bunch more. It’s Midi effects so it will work with a Midi board too.
This baby can push 50 watts through two 12 inch Jenson speakers that can take up to 70 watts of power. Now on the back panel of this amp is enough to blow you away for a 250-dollar amp! Inputs for cabinets, to drive other amps midi control, headphones you name it it’s got it!

And the best part is the sounds, bottom line it can make the tone you are looking for.


The particleboard used to build the amp is a down side. I would love to see this baby with a way for more control with the standard foot controller. But for the money….. can’t go wrong.

It's built solid however the plastic knobs I'll be gentle with and I already stated the particleboard type of encasement. Got to say I like what I see or rather hear so far. ; )

I’m very pleased with this amp, it has the sounds that I was looking for and the price is prefect! I have a friend who owns the Fender Cyber Twin and yes the Cyber Twin is a better amp however dollar for dollar I’m not downing the Behringer at all. For this GMX does put out some great sounds just like the Cyber Twin!

Bottom line, the value is unbeatable and I’ll give this amp a big thumbs up.

Behringer has a good hold on the market because of their very inexpensive and budget friendly equipment for musicians. They make a whole assortment of different gear for the producer all the way to the standard guitar player. They have a lot of different equipment available at very low in budget friendly prices. This is one of those amplifiers that is targeted towards the beginner guitar player for someone who just needs a simple practice amplifier without paying too much for it.

This is an amplifier that basically is a modeling amplifier somewhat like a lines 6 amplifier. It has a lot of different workable voicings and tones in modes to choose from. It has a multiple amount of effects to choose from and everything is programmable and with just a touch of the dial you can dial in different tones for different applications.

Overall this is a pretty basic amplifier for someone is looking for a very cheap and inexpensive way to get an all-in-one amplifier. This thing is going to have a wealth of different sounds and effects in different tones for anything from country all the way up into metal tones. This is going to be a practice and primarily for someone is looking just be able to hammer away on her guitar in their home or office. It's a simple 60 W amplifier that has to Independent channels . You can also input your CD player or MP3 player see you can play directly into this thing.

OVERALL OPINION


Overall for the price is not that bad of an amplifier but it's certainly not to be a professionals amplifier either. This amplifier comes in new ride at around $330. That's not too bad of a price for a pretty versatile practice in. And I got a emphasize that this is a practice amplifier and really not meant to go out and gig with. Certainly you can do that and I'm sure that people do but this amplifier is not geared towards the awesome tone that many tube amplifiers can provide.

This amp to a sacred potato. Almost the same as a tube amp.
I get to have a great sound for playing the Rolling Stones and ACDC. Pink Floyd and (most importantly for me) it goes great, even better than I expected.

About the effects: some are very good, even exceptional (Stereo Tremolo, and Reverb). The modulations are good. For cons, the Wah is really rotten and rotary fairly average. But overall, it holds up.

Another good thing about this amp is very neutral if its attack directly the power amp with a multi-effects modeling type Pod, Tonelab or Zoom G2.
Usually the models go wrong on an amp. And of course the GMX212, no problem!
It fully respects the models including the HP that I recommend to activate because this amp is made for! I never heard my zoom ring as well. The simulation sounds Fender Fender, Vox like Vox and Marshall idem.
So if you have a good modeler, it will form a harmonious pair with this amp!

This amp is great. The price / quality ratio is excellent.
The models are of high quality for the price of the machine.

I bought the Behringer because it is the only one who was as fishing and sound almost as good as the VOX AD120VT (my first choice - Line6 far behind). Admittedly, the Behringer does not have neither the reputation of a Vox or a Fender, but it perfectly supports the comparison with the amps mentioned above.

Pleasant surprise from Behringer ...

This is an "analog" modeler, although Behringer doesn't go into any great detail to describe how or what makes this analog as a pose to a digital modeling combo. This is a solid-state amplifier. It is a stereo combo that runs at 2x60 watts and features three unique amp choices, at three different gain settings, with three options for speaker response. These can all be selected (or doubled for that matter) between two selectable channels. There is also a 24-bit effects processor. The amplifier comes with a footswitch that changes between the two channels. Because the amp modeling is not digital, all tones are selectable through good ol' fashion knobs and are not stored digitally. So, if you set the gain at 6, and in moving the amp, the knob gets moved, it will stay moved until you put it back. There are standard 1/4" connections along with RCA outs. There are additional speaker outs and slave outs as well, as well as a connection for a Behringer floorboard.

UTILIZATION

It's pretty easy to dial up some decent tones through this amp. I don't think I ever had to crack open the manual. But, there is one major flaw to this amp: when switching between channels there is a long delay. Perhaps this is the "analog circuitry" taking its time, but whatever the reason it renders the amplifier unusable for switching between channels in the middle of the song. I'm pretty good with timing, but I could never get it down for punching in additional gain (from the other channel) for guitar solos. That being said, if someone didn't do a lot of channel changing, I guess this would be a decent amplifier, or it would have to be used and miked only in a studio environment where quick switching isn't necessary.

SOUNDS

This amplifier is capable of producing some strong tones.

OVERALL OPINION

This is a decent sounding amp, even though it's a Behringer. I had one problem with the input connection falling apart, probably due to its cheap manufacture. For a high school kid, it might be a good first amp for playing with friends, considering the low cost. But, as mentioned about, the delay in switching channels really hinders the users ability to play with this amp.
