in a nutshell the quality is substandard as is the apparent lack of QC at the factory, after removing the solder from under the caps ( and by under i mean on top of circuit board underneath the caps NOT the solder pads)it satrated to work better than it ever has, i also bought a footswitch today from a local pawn shop for 10.00 and the switch doesn't work on the amp but causes the channel selection and effects to go wonky and not work when plugged in. after spending all day looking i found the old randall footswitch is correctly wired, functioning and SHOULD work with the GMX212, however there are 2 x 100pf surface mount caps shown on the schematic which locates them on the tiny circuit board where the footswitch plugs in yet the actual tiny circuit board is MISSING these 2 caps, so i ordered them in hopes that it fixes the footswitch.

to be honest i would advise against this amp or any other behringer product based on poor customer service ( actually lack thereof) and look for something else.

while at it avoid anything from any sister companies or close partners of behringer to include Bugerra. there are far better amps with better quality than this one.

I purchased this item off of Ebay for $235. I bought it mainly because my old amp took a dump on me and I needed something for the next show.

I like almost everything, i love the built in effects adn the distortion. The distortion, I think, was better than my Boss DS-1. This thing is extremely loud, I haven't needed to put it past 5 yet! The 2 Jensen speakers kick too.

Not really a whole lot to dislike, except 2 things, it weighs a ton(not that big of a deal), adn that it loses about half volume when played clean. Otherwise an AWESOME piece of equipment!

Awesome quality, I've dropped mine twice and absolutely nothing happened.

footswitch only turns the effects on or off,be nice if you could scroll through them. Also only one input for guitar when this baby could easily handle two

seems to be a reasonably solid construction, well layed out controls and all the "bells and whistles" you could wish for

I bought this one online at Same Day Music.com, they have a lower shipping charges. I had a Fender Deluxe 112 plus that put out 90 watts of power but didn’t have the crunch I was looking for.
Well I was looking at the new Spider amps from Line 6 but since they are harder than hens teeth to find and I needed an amp I took a chance with Behringer. I have a good friend that owns a Behringer bass amp and that amp was very sound for the money.
I paid 250 dollars and shipping wasn’t very much more, 9 bucks I think.

I paid 250 dollars and shipping wasn’t very much more, 9 bucks I think.

This amp has THREE killer settings! Tweed, for the Fender fans and it sounds good too. British for the Marshall/Vox type sounds and Californian for their Mesa type sounds. All of these settings can be used either with Clean, Hi Gain, or HOT! Take into consideration that this amp also has three Cabinet settings too, Flat, UK and US which helps to change the tone just that much more!

It has Two channels that can be set to your needs and comes with a two switch foot controller that can which between channel and turn on or off the cool 24 bit effects. This amp has a neat little tuner on board too, it’s nice a simpe the way a tune should be and you can change the A tone from 440 hz up or down 15 hz.

Now the effects range from reverb, chorus, flang, phase, rotary, echo, delay and a bunch more. It’s Midi effects so it will work with a Midi board too.
This baby can push 50 watts through two 12 inch Jenson speakers that can take up to 70 watts of power. Now on the back panel of this amp is enough to blow you away for a 250-dollar amp! Inputs for cabinets, to drive other amps midi control, headphones you name it it’s got it!

And the best part is the sounds, bottom line it can make the tone you are looking for.

The particleboard used to build the amp is a down side. I would love to see this baby with a way for more control with the standard foot controller. But for the money….. can’t go wrong.

It's built solid however the plastic knobs I'll be gentle with and I already stated the particleboard type of encasement. Got to say I like what I see or rather hear so far. ; )

I’m very pleased with this amp, it has the sounds that I was looking for and the price is prefect! I have a friend who owns the Fender Cyber Twin and yes the Cyber Twin is a better amp however dollar for dollar I’m not downing the Behringer at all. For this GMX does put out some great sounds just like the Cyber Twin!

Bottom line, the value is unbeatable and I’ll give this amp a big thumbs up.

    SOUNDS

This is an amplifier that basically is a modeling amplifier somewhat like a lines 6 amplifier. It has a lot of different workable voicings and tones in modes to choose from. It has a multiple amount of effects to choose from and everything is programmable and with just a touch of the dial you can dial in different tones for different applications.

Overall this is a pretty basic amplifier for someone is looking for a very cheap and inexpensive way to get an all-in-one amplifier. This thing is going to have a wealth of different sounds and effects in different tones for anything from country all the way up into metal tones. This is going to be a practice and primarily for someone is looking just be able to hammer away on her guitar in their home or office. It's a simple 60 W amplifier that has to Independent channels . You can also input your CD player or MP3 player see you can play directly into this thing.

    OVERALL OPINION

Overall for the price is not that bad of an amplifier but it's certainly not to be a professionals amplifier either. This amplifier comes in new ride at around $330. That's not too bad of a price for a pretty versatile practice in. And I got a emphasize that this is a practice amplifier and really not meant to go out and gig with. Certainly you can do that and I'm sure that people do but this amplifier is not geared towards the awesome tone that many tube amplifiers can provide.

    1 Presence
    1 Master Volume

Need is a digital output and it would be perfect!

    UTILIZATION

Very easy to use despite the possibilities.

It selects the channel (2 identical) on which selected the type of modeling using a small switch (like the Sansamp):

    1. Tweed (typical Fender Tweed)
    2. British (Marshall no doubt)
    3. Calif (I think of a Mesa Boogie, but perhaps a Blackface Twin, to see ...)

    then the type of gain

    1.Clean (What's clear!)
2.Hi gain (good low gain overdrive with the gain and distortion so thoroughly)
3.Hot (High gain not for the blues ...)

And finally the type of Hp

    1.Flat (no modeling - of HP's board)
    2.UK (cabinet sound 4 * 12 "ended like Marshall)
3.US (His two HP 12 "Twin Reverb combo type)

The advantage of the fact that both channels are identical is that one can use a clean sound (or distortion) on both but with an equalizer and different effects depending on the selected channel. We just have to change channels using the footswitch - very practical ...

As for the multi-effects presets are the numbers of 99 with all the typical effects:

    Chorus - Flanger - Phaser - Delay - Reverb - Auto Wah - Pitch - Tremolo - compressor - ... etc.
Some presets have several effects such as Chorus / Reverb - Flanger / Delay - etc ...

The only problem is that you can not change the direct effects on the amp. We can only control the amount of effects. However, if you have a midi interface, you can access all the settings for each effect (Complete MIDI implementation)

As for the use of the connection back, we do what we want is so full:
Departure to sound system, stereo speaker output for greater dissemination and more.

I put 8 / 10 only because the effects can not be altered without midi ...

    SOUNDS

Here is the pleasant surprise from Behringer ...
I was looking for an amp with good clean sound. Not bad!
For heavy distortion I'm not an expert, but this amp also provides very well on this side ...

The simulation of Tweed in to clean the fish and a sound that can be bold enough or lens.
The serious bump. It was almost the impression of playing on a tube amp.
For cons, the volume is lower than other simulation. We must therefore push the Level not to be above passing of this simulation to that of Marshall. But this is really a detail without any effect on the sound!

The simulation in the British Hi-Gain: Well I think it sounds rather like Marshall JCM

The simulation in Calif clean: it reminds me a lot like a Fender Twin and allows cruncher pushing the gain

I could not put it too on other modes simus because it would be too exhaustive.
My preference: simulation Tweed - Clean mode - simu HP UK

Anyway, this amp is the clean nickel. For distos, it goes very well regardless of the style.
This amp to a sacred potato. Almost the same as a tube amp.
I get to have a great sound for playing the Rolling Stones and ACDC. Pink Floyd and (most importantly for me) it goes great, even better than I expected.

About the effects: some are very good, even exceptional (Stereo Tremolo, and Reverb). The modulations are good. For cons, the Wah is really rotten and rotary fairly average. But overall, it holds up.

Another good thing about this amp is very neutral if its attack directly the power amp with a multi-effects modeling type Pod, Tonelab or Zoom G2.
Usually the models go wrong on an amp. And of course the GMX212, no problem!
It fully respects the models including the HP that I recommend to activate because this amp is made for! I never heard my zoom ring as well. The simulation sounds Fender Fender, Vox like Vox and Marshall idem.
So if you have a good modeler, it will form a harmonious pair with this amp!

Of any good compared to its issue price. In any case better than the Line 6 Flextone 3 with which I could compare

I put 9 / 10 only because some effects are average.

    OVERALL OPINION

This amp is great. The price / quality ratio is excellent.
The models are of high quality for the price of the machine.
It has a trunk and a fishery that can easily make the scene.
I recently tried several amp before giving in to this one.
    The Flextone 3 XL (2x75-watt model) The Vox AD120VT, AD60VT, AD50VT AD30VT ET.
The Hughes & Ketter Matrix 100 - The Fender FM65R.
I bought the Behringer because it is the only one who was as fishing and sound almost as good as the VOX AD120VT (my first choice - Line6 far behind). Admittedly, the Behringer does not have neither the reputation of a Vox or a Fender, but it perfectly supports the comparison with the amps mentioned above.

With experience, if I had not more money, I will take it without hesitation. Otherwise it would only take AD120VT VOX is a step up. Because it would not be worth changing to a lower amp ...

In any case, an excellent price / quality ratio.
    Pleasant surprise from Behringer ...

This is an "analog" modeler, although Behringer doesn't go into any great detail to describe how or what makes this analog as a pose to a digital modeling combo. This is a solid-state amplifier. It is a stereo combo that runs at 2x60 watts and features three unique amp choices, at three different gain settings, with three options for speaker response. These can all be selected (or doubled for that matter) between two selectable channels. There is also a 24-bit effects processor. The amplifier comes with a footswitch that changes between the two channels. Because the amp modeling is not digital, all tones are selectable through good ol' fashion knobs and are not stored digitally. So, if you set the gain at 6, and in moving the amp, the knob gets moved, it will stay moved until you put it back. There are standard 1/4" connections along with RCA outs. There are additional speaker outs and slave outs as well, as well as a connection for a Behringer floorboard.

    UTILIZATION

It's pretty easy to dial up some decent tones through this amp. I don't think I ever had to crack open the manual. But, there is one major flaw to this amp: when switching between channels there is a long delay. Perhaps this is the "analog circuitry" taking its time, but whatever the reason it renders the amplifier unusable for switching between channels in the middle of the song. I'm pretty good with timing, but I could never get it down for punching in additional gain (from the other channel) for guitar solos. That being said, if someone didn't do a lot of channel changing, I guess this would be a decent amplifier, or it would have to be used and miked only in a studio environment where quick switching isn't necessary.

    SOUNDS

This amplifier is capable of producing some strong tones.

    OVERALL OPINION

This is a decent sounding amp, even though it's a Behringer. I had one problem with the input connection falling apart, probably due to its cheap manufacture. For a high school kid, it might be a good first amp for playing with friends, considering the low cost. But, as mentioned about, the delay in switching channels really hinders the users ability to play with this amp.

As mentioned by my predecessors, it is indeed a modeling amp with all the connectivity imaginable, footswitch, midi, effects loop, dual stereo output, a slave in pre amp, etc ...
The power is 2 * 60 watts, which is more than enough for them to show off the leaves ...
Big advantages: the multi purpose ... Disadvantage: the multi purpose ...
Indeed, too much effect kills the effect, one could make a good third in the bucket, because of futility ...
In rhythm, I'm in the "dry", ie zero effect, and there, hello waffles!
A big regret: There's no third channel "lead" and it is a shame, but I found the parade, I reserve the presets 90 or 91 (compressor) for my solos, it can move slightly…

A big regret: There's no third channel "lead" and it is a shame, but I found the parade, I reserve the presets 90 or 91 (compressor) for my solos, it can move slightly above the group ...
The small delay in the ignition switch is a little annoying at first, but after you adapt and it manages (as Richard ...)
Otherwise, to the sound, nothing to say, I practice a very hard rock "couillu" gmx and what I use also as head of the behringer 4 * 12 is more than many road

    UTILIZATION

Over the config is simple, the sound comes almost naturally, big advantage of modeling compared to tube amps, but I recognize that we must love ...
But I give a third layer for the missing channel, because with that, we come close to perfection ...
The manual is quite clear to one who understands quickly, and there is a defect in recurrent Behringer, textbooks are designed to be read by the person who wrote ...
But hey, it always comes out ...

    SOUNDS

The behringer is perfectly suited to all styles, as hard as I exit the practice at high doses with my group, we have some softer compound, and there, he knows perfectly to slip into the shoes of an acoustic session ...
my two guitars a Epiphone Les Paul Classic and a Charvel Jackson Model 6, in all cases, the graous is on the shelf ...
With my demon wah ibanez weaping accoublée an old but effective delay DSD boss solo is a killer!
Incidentally, the car's multi wha effect is worthy of a gift Bonux, meaning to shit against ...
Be careful, because saturated channel, the hardest is to play between the presence and treble, if not, beware of feedback, especially if you like the riot of decibels!
Serious chest and give a round that I love, and the media provide good sustain, all there!

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for two good years, I had first combo and then as head coupled to the B 412 behringer always home ...
If I have to replace it one day, it will be by his cousin's head v-AMPYRA which has exactly the same characteristics, speaker cabinets and 10 kgs in less ...
I tried the comparison with a laney head TT50H home, (it's still something!) But nothing to do, I keep my behringer.
My guitar playing on a jcm 900 with a gas plant around, frankly, my behringer is more than up ...
There's probably better I do not dispute, but he justifies such a price difference?
I remember 25 years ago, a guitar brand suffered from a bad reputation because of political "cheap" ...
    Ibanez ...
I think we'll talk about the gmx 212 in a few years ...

    It's a transistor amp! with 2X12
Connectivity varies but does not last on mine! Oh la la!
I never used this amp in its use ORIGINAL!
But if I make this post is to speak well even when !!!!!!! but surprise for its use! ;-)

    UTILIZATION

Yes, but the too! I do not use it as a traditional amp! because the base! I will not throw Epargne Bhringer! the connection does not work with facade and is nase! Finally for my MODEL!

    SOUNDS

Well I lche my info! in fact this amp! It can be used as a power amp or POD for ToneLab to the extent that there are connectors for connecting a pre-amp modlisation directly into the power amp! You tell me! but it's stupid! as buying a power amp…

You tell me! but it's stupid! as buying a power amp alone! I rponds! no! because for 300 Euros! you have a power amp with a 2x12 with 100 watts of power! and it sounds good and it is trs trs neutral! so it's an alternative to Power engine and others that are expensive! and I RPET that HP and make the power amp well with modlisation! knowing that it reproduces the basic sound of the V-Tone is a pramp modlisation!

    OVERALL OPINION

6 Months to use! it look unreliable! inputs and outputs do not work all! but hey it can make many services in the field of modlisation! the modlisationnes-man understand me !!!!!! :-)

Amp modeling, 2x60W, shielded connectors tare, 99 effect presets, etc. .... basically, everyone has spoken ...

personally, I would have liked more than one channel, but hey, the price of the Beast (200 € on the internet), I really do not moan!

for the effects of the 99 presets, is enough to make his choice, even if ultimately we are left with less than ten used. twelve o'clock connectivity allows you to use to best effect, since base can not be resolved by a single characteristic effect.

    SOUNDS

Well, I confess l, c is my first amp (well, at the beginning had a small j kustom 15w) and I have not had much opportunity to test (a part of the house ValveKing a peavey) and as a "young "guitarist, all I was looking for c sound stupid, well, frankly, I m tired ... this little corny allows exploring lots of different sounds without spending hundreds and hundreds of euros every time ... super versatile, my preferences are for the current tweed with a hi gain and an HP U.S. bluesy sounds super hot, that I used rather than clean (large defect of tweed, his lack of volume) and hot-calif UK for the big meetal delamorkitu ... and then play with chorus, delay, rotary (Onk Onk!) from time to time to flesh all this.

some regrets all the same, as the inability to use the amp without modeling (in any con transistor amp, it would be a plus, and then it cost nothing ^ ^) and the lack of volume tweed (british or spend in calif tweed on the same channel need to increase the volume)

otherwise, nothing to say, it sounds a wonder, he even improved the sound of my shovel! (I played on a whale-ST WPSL LH, so a guitar sound entry level, I still expect to be able to connect an LP ^ ^)

    OVERALL OPINION

I've had about the 4 months I used the enormously since c is the only one that I have, I served in amp room and repeated (at last time to receive my little smokey amp) and frankly, I am fully satisfied, for price you can not ask for more in the genre ... And then it allowed me to change a lot of opinions on behringer.

its nice, full, powerful, if you want an amp mod a small price, do not hesitate!

I would do the selection with closed eyes, I want to buy even more!
with more resources, I might be off on a light amplifier, and I think I would start looking at a behringer / BUGERA
but with the v-tone, I have time to look ahead, 120W, I am not prepared to need more
