Characteristics
I threw myself into buying this pedal, with some fears of a ct has seemed a worthy hrsie the worst singer in the 80s to add channels artificial.
But ... I am a keyboard in a small group (it is 3: drums / keyboard / vocals), and many songs, we wanted the chorus to add some punch. A 3 is a bit limited especially when singing in choir, playing the drums ...
So the Harmony-M is like the G version for guitar, but with some notable diffrence. It is a very compact box (10cm x 10cm has little prs) Designed well, solid, heavy ... of good quality.
Basically, three main functions:
- Adds a little compression and EQ voice with the "tone"
- Adds the reverb / echo with the FX
- Adds voice supplmentaires of 3 DIFFERENT fawns available:
* 1: dual voice unison
* 2: add 1 or 2 voices in harmony interval chosen by the user
* 3: Add up to 4 vote by following the notes on the keyboard cheeks
So you plug the keyboard in MIDI (grrr: no output), XLR microphone (the pedal therefore acts prampli), and its fate in TRS STREO.

- ajoute des voix supplémentaires de 3 façons différentes au choix :
* 1 : double la voix à l'unison
* 2 : ajoute 1 ou 2 voix en harmonie d'intervalle choisi par l'utilisateur
* 3 : ajoute jusqu'à 4 voix en suivant les notes jouées au clavier

On peut ajouter un pédalier si on veut laisser la pédale à portée de main : c'est ce que j'ai fait : j'avais un pédalier à 2 boutons de chez Behringer qui n'a rien à voir avec le shmilblick, et il me permet d'engager l'effet et de switcher entre les presets. pratique! Surtout qu'une jolie pédale comme ça, c'est triste de la laisser par terre!

Manuel très clair, en français, mais c'est très simple à utiliser : en branche, et ça sonne directement. Très agréable à utiliser.

Sound Quality
So here, the sinews of war:
- The function tone: it allows the voice out of the mix. It sounds more "sharp", less shepherd. With a Shure beta58 is a bit too much, because it is a microphone that has a lot of "nose" the base. on the other hand, with a 58 for short, has more catches. So not bad.
- The function rverb: if you do not use reverb elsewhere in your config, a disservice, but very dispensable. I'm not very difficult in reverb, so has me. However, I do not use it because I have another rverb on my mixer that can be applied to all pickups.
- The "double" to sing in unison: this is not really terrible. It sounds like a chorus bte. It adds to the dough, of course, but nothing in the high tech. The "humanize" does not seem to play it.
- The "manual": it works well, but hard to use!
- The harmony function: it is the purpose of the pedal, and it is stunning. Sounds good, and always surprises! - La fonction tone : elle permet à la voix de sortir du mix. Elle sonne plus "tranchante", moins épaisse. Avec un micro Shure beta58, c'est un peu trop, car c'est un micro qui a beaucoup de "nez" à la base. Par contre, avec un 58 tout court, ça rattrape mieux. Donc pas mal.
- La fonction réverb : à utiliser si vous n'avez pas de reverb ailleurs dans votre config, ça rend service, mais très dispensable. Je ne suis pas très difficile en reverb, donc ça me convient. Cependant, je ne l'utilise pas, car j'ai une autre réverb sur ma table de mixage qui peut être appliquée à tous micros.
- La fonction "double", pour chanter à l'unison : c'est vraiment pas terrible. On dirait un bête chorus. Ca ajoute de la pâte, certes, mais rien de high tech là dedans. La fonction "humanize" ne semble pas jouer dessus.
- La fonction "manual" : ça marche bien, mais difficile à utiliser !
- La fonction harmonie : c'est le but de la pédale, et c'est bluffant. Ca sonne bien, et ça surprend toujours! Néanmoins, on entend quand même des sortes de "bulles" au casque : vous savez, un peu comme un mp3 mal codé, où on à l'impression qu'il y a un petit flanger sur les hauts médiums? Mais bon, ça ne s'entend qu'au casque, et si on pousse le volume des harmonie trop fort. Moralité : ne pas mettre les harmonies plus fort que la voix principale.

Bon, c'est une pédale qui fait bien son boulot, mais attention, ce n'est pas une pédale qui fait des merveilles :
- Si vous chantez faux, les harmonies sont fausses aussi
- Les harmonies vous suivent avec toujours le même intervalle, ce qui n'est pas "naturel" pour un vrai chœur, où chaque voix à sa partition indépendante. Il faut donc penser à utiliser cet effet uniquement pour lancer quelques harmonies juste au bon moment, pendant 1 ou 2 vers maximum, sinon attention à l'effet Country! Pour faire des harmonies sur de plus long passages, il vaut n'utiliser qu'une voie d'harmonie
- La pédale galère un peu sur certains renversements d'accords et hésite en majeur et mineur. C'est très rare, mais ça peu agacer.
Bref : mon avis est que c'est un effet de bonne qualité, mais à utiliser avec parcimonie, et il vaut mieux l'avoir sur quelqu'un qui fait une seconde voix que sur le chanteur principal, sinon gare à la lourdeur. Aussi, il peut être utilisé pour expérimenter et faire des choses plus originales!
