Fender Introduces New Y. Malmsteen Model

Fender has announced a new Stratocaster model dedicated to Yngwie Malmsteen, this time in the brand's "Tribute" series.

According to Fender, the Yngwie Malmsteen Tribute Series Stratocaster (a.k.a. the “Play Loud” guitar) is a meticulous recreation of the artist's infamous and battle-hardened 1971 Stratocaster guitar, complete with heavily worn Olympic white finish, scalloped fingerboard and distinctive scars of fury.
Like the original, it features DiMarzio HS-3 pickups in the bridge and neck positions and a standard Fender ’70s-era middle pickup, with a standard Fender bridge, a large headstock and a battered olympic White finish treated to mirror each of the original guitar’s many battle scars—the nicks, dings, scratches, burns and worn finish spots from decades of heavy use and abuse in Malmsteen’s hands.
Although no MSRP was communicated, we have the release date: November 28, 2008, only a few weeks after the release of Malmsteen's new record called "Perpetual Flame".
