« Interesting amp »

Published on 07/08/11 at 14:40
This is an Italian amplifier manufacturer that is pretty popular in Europe and mostly in Italy. These amps have a similar marketing plan as the Engl amps. These amps would definitely be a competitor to those amps and probably Diezel as well. These amps are harder o find over in North America.

These amps are definitely catered towards the metals guys. They have a metal voicing that is hard not to dial out even in the cleaner channels. The front panel is a bit confusing to me. They have control and knobs everywhere and just a little intimidating to get used to. I wish they would have a little more consistency with the EQ's and control even with that many control knobs. Diezel has a lot of knobs but they have a way that it doesn't get confusing.

SOUNDS

I am not much of a fan of these amp tone wise. I think they sound a little buzzing and thin to my ears. I just don't find them all that pleasing. The voicing is pure metal and that is what I like most of the time but this amp just doesn't do it for me.

These are amps that you really need a wacky looking guitar to go with the wacky cosmetics of this amp. From a consumer's perspective the amp is sort of goofy looking and confusing to dial in the tone you are looking for. The lead channel seems a tad bit thin to my ears. Maybe it was the way it was dialed in but just put me off very quickly.

OVERALL OPINION

These amps are hard to find on the internet and in shops. I have seen them on forums before for around $1800 used so I;m guessing that they are probably around $2500 or so on the new market.

Who would I recommend this amp to...well probably no one who doesn't get a chance to play it. I am sure they are great amps for people but just not me.
