Winter NAMM 2012 News
I've had it for about a year now and it is the only reverb plug-in that I use - its that good. Not only is it really easy to get a nice sound from it, but the controls are really in depth and useful. I've used a couple of reverb plug-ins in the past and this one trumps them all. While I haven't done this, I believe that you can download extra p...
What I like most about this software is the ability to run Huge Rack presets. Some songs I play require a big Sidechain compressor where as some other songs I play are much softer in dynamics and require little to no compression as well as other effects for different style songs. With Multirack, you can quickly (and without any audio hiccups o...
I've been using the Waves Maserati ACG for about three years and it is one of my favorite compressor plug-ins for a number of reasons. The first reason is its overall sound quality. It really has a bit of vintage sound that is warm and full. It sounds great on everything from vocals to guitars and drums. The second major reason is the plug-in's...
I've owned Auto Tune 5 for about 10 months now but I had been using an earlier version for about a year and half before that. I love the interface of the software, both in graphical mode and in automatic it is easy to configure and to tune things up with. The sound is pretty smooth, along it really depends on the singer. If a vocal is relatively...
I've been using this since I got Pro Tools, which was about three or fours years ago. The sound of this compressor is good and usable, but since I have other options like Smack and a URS compressor, I don't use it all that often. The sound quality is good but is definitely not spectacular. The meters and graphs are a big upside on this as they a...
I've had this plug-in for two years and it has become a great tool in my arsenal as far as equalization goes. The ease of the interface makes it easy to do what I want it to do. The sound quality is good and it is definitely a good option when looking to use an EQ plug-in. I have used it on everything from vocals to drums. It also sounds good on...
My home studio is modest, but I've had the opportunity to work at a variety of high end studios. Obviously, the Gold Bundle won't replace a high end SSL or API console. However, it will IMMEDIATELY make tracks recorded straight into your average FW or USB interface sound worlds better. Invest in Gold and one or two high quality outboard pre's an...
Overall, I am blown away by these plugins they really make the mix come to life, i have used them for a project with no other plugins and the mix sounded great. So for anyone looking at buying Waves Chris Lord-Alge Artist Signature Collection plugins i say go for it you wont regret it. Download the demo version and you will immediately want to p...
Even though it's the first of it's kind from Waves, and has since been surpassed, the Waves L1 Ultramaximizer is a great limiting plug-in. I don't know if it's cheaper to buy this one individually when compared to the L2 or L3, but if it's not I'd definitely recommend going with the L3 Multimaximizer since there's more control and it does the s...
While certainly more expensive than the plug-in versions, the Waves L2 UltraMaximizer is going to be worth it for the pro mastering engineer. It gives you options in sound and can definitely bring your home mixes up a few notches. I don't know what this would go for now as it's definitely on the older side since it came out before the L2 plug-...
