Winter NAMM 2012 News
I've been using the Bx8’s studio monitors for about a year and they have become one of my favorite pairs of studio monitors for not only mixing, but for general listening and tracking as well. I find that I get a true sound from these monitors, without any coloration. This makes me happy when I mix because I know that when I play the mix over m...
I would never switch these monitors out for another pair in this price range, the only way I’m upgrading is if I’m spending a grand or more. The Bx8a’s are defiantly a good choice in the price range.
If you want a super cheap set of studio speakers for use on the go or as an extra set, the M-Audio Studiophile AV 30’s are worth looking at. Only because of their super low price do they get a serious look, as they’re definitely not proper studio monitors and I wouldn’t use them as your mains in any situation. The perfect use for these would b...
Being that the M-Audio Studiophile DSM2s are up there with the best, if not the best sounding studio monitors that M-Audio has to offer. However, this isn't saying all that much as M-Audio isn't exactly known for their precision in studio monitors. My low overall rating on these monitors really has to do with the price more than anything. In ...
If you are in the market for compact, cheap set of active studio monitors, in more situations than not, the M-Audio Studiophile SP-5Bs will get the job done. However, don't expect to be able to do any real mixing on them beyond setting up mixes or editing, as they just don't cover the full frequency spectrum adequately enough to be suitable for...
Been in use for mixing ~2 years. Best part: Inexpensive and good mids & smooth highs. Easy connection to any setup. Mixes translate well as long as they aren't bass heavy, or you use a separate subwoofer. Worst part: No sub-bass frequencies. Good value for the price, but you might want to spring for some slightly more ex...
I first used these monitors about four years ago and I immediately like the response these give off. They are large, but are easy to move around and give off a full and crisp signal. Since it won't color your sound, these are good for mixing for those looking for a good deal on studio monitors as they are dirt cheap for monitors that sound this ...
I got a pair of M-Audio Studiophile BX5s about six years ago and have since upgraded. In general I like the sound of these, but since it lacks overall fullness and low end definition, they aren't great for mixing. The price is very cheap which makes it an attractive option. While I like these, I would probably recommend the M-Audio BX8s, which i...
I have been using these monitors for about a year now. I was really happy with the price, which was about $150 dollars. They are a good value and also come with some little isolation pads. I tried various other monitors before I picked these, and were very happy with my decision. The thing I like most about it was the sound. The sound was nice a...
These monitors are great for anybody who is on a low budget but is trying to get their money worth. Perfect size, perfect price, these monitors are what you need if your on a budget
