Analog Mixer without effects, type 'line in'
32 channel, 8 bus.

UTILIZATION

The grip of a Line in is not obvious, but the possibilities are endless on these consoles both studio and live.

SOUNDS

For a console that price range, I must say it is more than correct. The preamps are warm, and the EQ really help cut the sound. No breath.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had almost 6 years now.
I've tried a lot of mixers,
Soundcraft and Yamaha Behringer.
I prefer Mackie - made in U.S..

The +: its warm, efficient EQ, the direct out and routing possibilities of sound,
The -: The console is cumbersome

UTILIZATION

Configuration that allows all possibilities
32 line inputs, microphone and return "magneto" and insert
A comprehensive manual if needed but really rarely needed because this table is also a well thought allemant manufacturer had copied generously this table but the match so it's worth the original! there are no pictures!

SOUNDS

no breath! I had tables yamaha was blah, a Studiomaster it was okay but I still Mackie also is top!

Moreover it happens that groups prepare their registration on the table ...
such as Metallica, but this should not be the only group but it does not do well to say that we recorded with the "old" material! damn it sounds!

OVERALL OPINION

10 years no failure! what I like is that you can use it to record, but also for sound in a concert so it's royal and moreover it is easy to record a Live! we did with our group and it was spot on! recording made on Mackie HDR 24/96 leaving the table Mackie 32/8/2! Registration is nickel! the added advantage with this table is that you can act quickly on all parameters because everything is there in front of you! No subroutine etc etc!

Well, that is soft, but then very soft! and it's bad!
Eq's are a crap! ca not ring! is not very efficient, and avoid a shelve a 12kHz!
the same eq Berhinger of dds3216 are more transparent!

I do not understand why everyone loves this table!
the same way as the Avalon VT737 or Genelec 1030, products sold through a fortune, as the high end! it is shameful!
these are just references because everyone has! not because it's quality! it sucks, especially on qd know how it goes ...

OVERALL OPINION

Show me the 24 channels version.

I wanted to put a notice on the 32 ways to restore some things said below. To say that this console is overpriced for a product of this quality seems unrealistic. It should be renseiller first price consoles. And yes, an SSL or a Neve, it is actually 100 times more than the Mackie. So knowing this, the price of the Mackie seems fairly justified. After, say that there are only eight buses, and yeah, that's still not a Neve or SSL and it does not pretend to be one. As for the issue of sound quality that is soft is an enormity. This is one of the most punchy console in this price range (compared to other Soundcraft Berhinhger and you will be surprised). I compared the Mackie EQ with 3 other consoles: SSL 4048G, Amek / Neve Big One and Trident series Alice. They were less accurate but more musical than the SSL, but less than the Amek, and those of the Trident had more headroom. But the performance of the Mackie, although lower, were not absolutely ridiculous.

A very good console for the price. No surprise whatsoever that it was mixed and recorded a bunch of multi-platinum album (Queensrÿche, Megadeth, Damage Plan, Jethro Tull, ...)

32 channels in line, and 6 departures 8bus (4 phisyques but two switchable, then mix in 6)
while jack and XLR in good strength.
2 Shelves, (bass and treble) a parametric (great for the sweep and search frequencies inconvenient!) And a semi-parametric.

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use for people who know the principle of in-line console, and more, direct out (1 per) are great, I do not even served 8bus for REC, mix only for sub groups.

SOUNDS

Breath is inaudible unless booster violated the 12kHz, but that's normal for any analog console (I'm not talking about a Neve or SSL). EQ has the punch to my taste, compared to some digital consoles at times sounding more "metallic" and cold.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 4 years.
I also wanted to change course in relation to the person who carried a little lower, this console is for me very respectable, I now separates (reluctantly) because of DAW mixing now , I was using more than this for console preamps and Magneto returns (for mix musician) for the REC.
The number of 6 to me still largely sufficient for the mix, I did not even six racks of temporal effects, so enough.
I tested a few consoles for my classes to the CAS, they had a Mackie 24/8/2 that in 10 years of intensive use (the studs are open from 8am to midnight!) That is left for repair 'once, when they changed to replace it against the console similar in behringer, in a year, he had already had three round-trip customer service!

The price / quality ratio for me is largely justified, especially as the argus has fallen sharply in recent months.
I used this analog mixing console, by sleeping on a mix my Alesis Masterlink. This console coupled with a 24 in / out and samplitude MOTU is a config that was perfect for me
I am not only used EQ on the console and not those of the DAW. And if I had to stay in mix analog, I do it again this choice without hesitation!

Console 32 tracks 8 assignable auxiliary groups or 6. Direct Out for each channel trs practices. Paramtriques and musical EQ. Many outputs (CONTRL Room, Studio ...)

UTILIZATION

Console trs complte and easy to take in hand, I have used it for one month and I'm glad trs. I use it in the house for Fixed records. I am glad trs.

SOUNDS

Equalizer trs effective and my musical taste. Console almost transparent, even when it Ramna a little something to the sound, a musical j'apprcie. No wind for me!

OVERALL OPINION

Console me trs trs an interesting point of view Qualitprix!
I have tried many analog MODEL acqurir before this one.
What I like most is the 8 groups, trs trs practices!
Price gnial quality report, I would do this choice!

Just a note: when the fader crack: they must necessarily change. It must be said that the faders should be replaced with sliders of type "Mackie" exclusively (ie: log reverse mass-center and pasta), which multiplies by 4 (on average) the price!
Disassembly, it is better to change by group 8 (8 channels for card piece by complete removal of the entire range that consists of 4 decks totally drop ....)

OVERALL OPINION

The mania for Mackie to make the "piece" for 8 channels. This requires a tedious and total deposits of the relevant tranche of three modules adjoining AND. For Ex, from Soundcraft, it takes 4 times longer to change a single fader! On Soundcraft not even need (as the case) file that channel, and if so, a simple removal of the slice was made without having to make 3 other modules attached peripherals.

Parametric EQ-excellent ... this is what makes the value of this machine.
Not-built-in effects ... it's not a console all in one, bad!
Not automation-option ... automation is found and too expensive.

UTILIZATION

-Configuration ... so inline with the main mix and mixB (monitoring).
-Everything is very accessible.

SOUNDS

Console quasi-transparent.
-Very little wind.
-Equalizer good ... terrible.

OVERALL OPINION

-Use for 2 years
Feature-positive EQ awesome ... very well designed for this award.
Black Point: do not support the sessions too long, it heats and technical problems occur ... but by waiting a little, it becomes perfect .... I love this console ...
Value for money-off competition ... other consoles of this type are generally more expensive or less effective.

Satisfied with most features; Board is transparent and expandable, EQ is smooth, Plenty of Aux options, Panning is solid, Pre-amps sound good, Phantom power in switchable groups of eight, I wish the mic / line switches were easier to reach in an "installed" studio. This thing is expandable with a single ribbon cable in groups of 24 channels! Mackie Ultramix Automation, we bought with unit works well.

Price paid: $3200

UTILIZATION

Board is logically set up top to bottom and easy to get around on. Manual is a good mix of technical and humor, a good read. Nice long faders, Knobs have some space between them and feel good to turn, ( not like cheap boards)

Board is a little large for the local gigsging musician, although we've used it and the flexible routing options helped with live recording, monitiring and Main PA all from the same source.

SOUNDS

Recording different styles and genres, I've found that the board works especially well for Electronic music. It sound great with anything I've thrown at it, and direct outs makes recording options and channel splitting easy. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

OVERALL OPINION

Highly recommend this board for it's bang for the buck, Automation only available from online Auctions, but the sound and features make it worth it. Several options available such as the Meter bridge, stand, 24 channels at a time (up to 128 channels) of expansion, I'm getting queay just thinking about it.
