Overall with the price of this board its definitely worth the purchase, just go to your local keyboard store and sit down with the Roland RD-100 and you will see what im talking about and what all of the buzz is about. You will sit down at this board (whether you are a seasoned keyboard player or a beginner) and you will feel like you are playin...
The 2 downsides for me are, the acoustic pianos don’t sound like they should or like they do on other boards. I think they could have a more rich sound to them. The acoustics are very mid heavy and plain. Almost like a boxy type of sounds, you will have to spend a lot of time on the eq to get them they way they should sound. Very happy w...

I was fortunate enough to be able to borrow one of these for a number of years. Eventually I had to return it to the owner. I deeply miss the Roland RD 500. However I am not a true piano player. I've been using it for about six years and it still works perfectly. It's an excellent instrument for beginners in spite of its price. It's a good digital piano. It's not bulky, doesn't get out of tune and looks nice. (sold in white or black finish) I recommend it to all beginners.
I've been using it since 2004 as my second piano (I take it with me when I travel. It's quite good as a second piano or for beginners (especially considering its price). I think it's been discontinued.
I do not feel super attached to it, although it is a nice controller and digital piano. Originally posted on FutureProducers.com Posted by: mano 1 ( 6-, 2005)
I bought mine from Guitar Center (love their price-matching!) a couple months ago and so far have had no problems. The only way I can describe this keyboard (and justify the expense to my bewildered friends) is that it's like going from a box of 8 crayons to a box of 64. The dynamic range and feel of the keyboard is just breathtakin...
It does what you tell it to. Very good midi (alot easier to control than JV-1080.. but some says it's not as tight as the JV-1080.. never noticed any _obvious_ timing-diff.. never used it for drums and stuff like that).. I really recommend this one if you need a good soundsource.. even if i prefer samplers more nowadays.. still got 2 of theese J...
