Characteristics
Essentiellent 128 preset, 64 users, 16 performances, a card slot SRJV, a pcm card slot and patch. A large screen for editing and 24-voice polyphony.
Essentiellent 128 preset, 64 users, 16 performances, 1 slot pour carte SRJV, 1 slot carte pcm et patch. Un grand écran pour l'édition et 24 voix de polyphonie.
Utilization
Usage is quite simple thanks to its large screen, the logic of the menus is not very complicated. Used to it very quickly!
L'utilisation est assez simple grace à son grand écran, la logique des menus n'est pas très compliquée. On s'y fait très vite!
Sounds
The sounds!! ah! the sounds of the Super JD.
The preset banks A & B does not reveal the possibilities of JD990, it must make its own sound, behave like a true synthetic, and the JD will reward you!
As we all know a card is needed for a great expander is of course the SRJV04 "Vintage Synth", playing gently with the effects and sometimes add an external reverb, we arrive at some wonderful things.
It sounds really good, it excellent on tablecloths, synth sounds in general.

Comme chacun sait une carte s'impose pour ce superbe expander, c'est bien entendu la SRJV04 "Vintage Synth", en jouant délicatement avec les effets et en parfois rajouter une reverb externe, on parvient à de bien belles choses.
Ca sonne vraiment très bien, il excellent sur les nappes, les sons de synthé en général.

I use it for 12 years, and each day I fellicite of this purchase, it's a real synthesizer, digital as we like, who lives!!
What can we blame him? the polyphony of 24 voices, 4 partial effect using a patch, it is reduced to 6 voice polyphony! but generally we use a partial or two for most sounds.
But we can not have everything, I think Roland has had to decide between quality of synthesis and high polyphony compared to the power of the machine.
I ask myself sometimes to take a second to solve this problem when using a lot of sounds in a sequence such as a JD dedicated to intensive groundwater polyphony and another for the rest.
I recommend this expander.

Je l'utilise depuis 12 ans, et chaque jours je me fellicite de cet achat, c'est un vrai synthétiseur, du numérique comme on aime, qui vit!!!!
Que peut-on lui reprocher? sa polyphonie de 24 voix, en effet en utilisant 4 partiels pour un patch, on est reduit à 6 voix de polyphonie!!! mais généralement on utilise 1 ou 2 partiels pour la majorité des sons.
Mais on ne peut pas tout avoir, je pense que Roland a dû trancher entre qualité de synthèse et grande polyphonie par rapport à la puissance de la machine.
Je me pose la question parfois d'en prendre un deuxième pour palier à ce problème en cas d'utilisation de beaucoups de sons au sein d'une séquence par exemple, un JD dédié aux nappes gourmandes en polyphonie et un autre pour le reste.
Je recommande cet expander.
