G&L makes an incredible product. A lot of handmade elements in the bass and a lot of bass here for the money. There is nothing I can find about this bass to say in a negative fashion except that, you MUST spend a good amount of time with it to find your sounds, this is not plug and play here. Once you figure it out, it will be extremely easy....
I've had it for six months and I like it more and more every day. It really make you want to play! I love its looks and the settings. I can't think of any defect, except for the price, which is very high for a student like me. I wonder if the Tribute model offers the same value. Consider it as an investment! I didn't tr...
Bought through MF on the web for $559. Used to own a Rickenbacker 2001 and several Fender's (P & Jazz). Haven't played in years, wanted to get back into playing bass (been playing guitar for over 30 years), but not spend a lot. Started off with a Mexi P-Bass, and it sounded dead, and needed more versatility. Versatility is the k...
I originally started searching for a high end bass after I had been playing for about 2 years. The local newspaper had a G&L SB-2 four string in the person to person section at a questionably low price. The owner of the bass had stripped the finish off with what seemed to be about 60 grit sand paper. It was less than 2 years old and alrea...
I found a classified ad for a 2001 G&L L-2500 for $450 and thought that it had to be a tribute model. Turns out that some poor sap was getting divorced and needed to sell his 5 string that was designed by Leo and built right here in Fullerton, CA... Sweet deal for me! I probably could have talked him down lower, but felt sorry about the di...
Found this bass on ebay..when I got it was less than 6 months old and had been played sparingly. Got it for $395 Great sound!! This bass has more settings than I have time to reach down and switch while playing. 2 big fat humbucking G&L pickups sound beautiful thus far. I'm running this bass through a Yorkville amp that I p...
Close to the end of the year 2000 I became interested in buying a new bass guitar. It had been a while since I looked at basses but I happened across the G&L website. After one look at the beautiful ASAT Bass, I knew I wanted one. It is the Leo Fender creation which uses the Telecaster style body with the narrow Jazz Bass style neck. Aft...
I bought this bass from Rutland Music in Valdosta, GA for about $1200. This is my second 2500; I use my older one (swamp ash figured top, birdseye maple neck) for gigging. This one (cherry burst with a quilt maple top and gun oil maple neck) stays at home! This bass is extremely easy to play, and you can get nearly any sound you w...
I think I found THE bass to play in the big leagues, it will be very difficult to part with, for me, it has everything a bassist can dream. One tip: go try it will not leave you indifferent.
I repost the opinion on this bass that I had left on AF, but not classified as must obviously :-( http://fr.audiofanzine.com/basse-electrique-frettee/gl/Tribute-L2500/avis/
