SOUND QUALITY

Compared to the boss (this is the only two that I know of):
I read the different ways to connect the boss (see the forum). I tried both in the loop and in front (with an A / B box, one after the other and true-bypass.)
Result:
I have not seen any differences between the isp and its bypass by against the boss so the sound is muffled. The isp is highly transparent. The effect itself is the same for both, it cuts net below a certain threshold.

OVERALL OPINION

I put 8 everywhere, but take it for what it's worth.
I use the effect continuously and I do not go absolutely clear even in his account. But if I disable it in distortion snores a lot. It fulfills its role perfectly. (Is not given either)

It doesn't get much simpler that the ISP Decimator. One knob to control your threshold and on or off with a press of the pedal. Whatever time vector processing is, I don't care. It equals no latency in lighter or quick notes and the response of the ISP. This unit also does not eat tone like so many noise supression units do. Built extremely well and instruction manual is sufficient.

UTILIZATION

I bought this for one simple reason, I play a nuclear powered hot rodded Marshall for gigs. When I am not actively hitting a note, the hum from the amp was annoying. The sound guy finally came up to me one night and asked me what the problem was and asked if I ever tried the ISP Decimator. Picked one up for the next gig and never looked back. So easy to use and adjust on the fly depending on volume levels. The big middle knob makes it easy to adjust with your foot to find your threshold setting. This is also built like a tank with the metal shell, perfect for gigging.

SOUND QUALITY

Because this is a noise reduction device, the only question on sound I have is does it affect my core tone? The answer is no. It does not suck bass or tone in any way and is transparent as any noise suppressor I have ever used. I played several older Boss noise gates and they were not as transparent as this one.

OVERALL OPINION

I love the simplicity and the fact that it is totally transparent allowing my tone to flow through but be kept under control. It is obviously top notch construction and built well. No complaints on the sensativity of the threshold once you set it properly to your volume. It just plain works and does the job it says it does. Do I wish it was a bit cheaper, sure. Is it worth the money...yes. Just ask my sound guy, made is job much easier. I would suggest this to any musician looking to tame a wild Marshall or any other amplifier.

Noise gate with one knob: sensitivity

UTILIZATION

Super easy to use; no manual needed. Plug in before amp, set threshold just to the point of activation and rock out.

SOUND QUALITY

the quality of this unit is extremely impressive. I would venture to say that ISP is now the leader in noise reduction. I had several units in the past including a 2 channel rocktron hush and several multifx with built in gates. This ISP is clearly at the top of the heap.

OVERALL OPINION

I love having this on my pedalboard. I'm a guy that typically avoids using nosie reduction these days...if possible. I usually go with minimal effects and wire it guitar>wah>overdrive>phaser>isp>amp. I could toss everything, but not the isp. Too many times it has saved the day. Example,, rig sounds great at home,even at high levels...go to practice, the drums are wailing and the room is smaller than ideal.. In order to compete, you turn up the volume, but then any lapse in playing results in abrasive squealing feedback. This results in either quieter guitar volume(never gonna happen, lol) or doing a pedal dance to silence your squeals, or knob turning acrobatics on your guitar. The ISP changes all of that; it will sense your stoppages and kill the noise. This allows for much greater perfomances, as you can just rely on this pedal as your rock, allowing you free to express yourself, play with dramatic Gilmore-ish breathes, execute deadly hi gain riffage countered with the needed chainsaw silence.

This pedal rules in live applications; the last thing you want at an important gig is uncontrollable noise. There were many shows I played where I never engaged the pedal(and the bypass does not seem to suck too much tone like other pedals), but there were plenty of shows where this thing was engaged all the time. Make no mistake, all noise reduction units will reduce quality of tone, but this unit seems to be the best at achieving transparency. It can give you that cool singing feedback while detecting the bad feedback and killing it. It has a very natural reaction time to the point where I haven't hesitated to use it in recording session as well. I would buy this again in a second, or explore some of their other pricier options. Great company and no need to look elsewhere ISP has this technology on an unparalleled level.

Pedal classic form, shining!

UTILIZATION

Easier to use, you die.
Put the knob to zero, connect all the effects and guitar. It was the background noise resulting, and that's where you turn the knob quietly up more than one kind of sound does the amp.

c is a noise gate, by definition there is only 1 function. this pedal has become indispensable in my little pedal board: TS9 - EQ - NoiseGate - JCM800, the breath of the OD which I mounted the output level (see more on strong returns in the JCM, the better it sounds) but , very positive, keep the momentum of the game up to 14h. I agree with all previous notices.
I've never had before, except Noise gate on digital multi-effects like the POD XT. They always have an effect either violent or ineffective.
In fact, home studio, I use plugins for the job of my downstream insert effects.

The ISP has nothing to do with it.

The release is still not adjustable smooth and it is significant to the sustain (which are inevitably lost).

I tried several audio configuration (clean, overdrive, fuzz, lighting up all the pedals ...) I have not seen any loss in sound with the ISP. So that point is already a real plus.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it recently.
Initially, I turn it off for clean (I play on a Voc AC15, not only to make the saturated). But finally I found the right set point to keep it on and forget it.

It is first thing in the chain between the guitar and the compressor. It must be said that the main blow is to remove the guitar. My pedals, even the Russian Tall Font, Sovtek Big Muff clone, are silent when not playing. And I am very careful with my choice of patch cables, power supply jack and I have a Voodoo Lab. So my effects chain (fully insert, there is no effects loop on a AC12C1) is really the cleanest possible.

But as soon as I turn the compressor on a guitar (the worst being the single coils on my Danelectro), the breath is such that I repeat the food of my delay. With the ISP Decimator, the problem disappears completely. Really full.
I think I do not extinguish that if I had to produce a very long sustain (over 8 seconds) but it happens infrequently (I prefer playing with my delay).

OK this shit to put much money into a pedal that produces no sound but I do not regret my investment. I trusted the advice of NS2 who complained to the treble level. I do not know if it's a figment of the imagination but in any case, this problem is not with the Decimator.

I think once past the infatuation I would end well for me complaining about the lack of control (in particular the release). But for simple, it's a faultless for me.

Otherwise, it is very classy on my pedalboard.

Connected Live set from -40 to -50 see my guitar (with microphone Active EMG) and my Mesa with the gain set at 80%, well ... Little breath, I put just my fingers on the strings and we believe that the knob volume of my guitar is ZERO!
It does color the sound in any case, no compression and no loss of sustain when we remain in a reasonable range of adjustment.

OVERALL OPINION

I had a Rocktron Hush The Pedal (see my opinion (% https://fr.audiofanzine.com/produits/avis/index 2Cidproduit 2C39939.html%) on the thing). The shortcomings of the monstrous Hush pushed me to buy another noise suppressor, and I fell for the Dcimator, ultra effective and ultra chrome.

CHRE most certainly, but really useful.

Both the Hush is flipflaps trash, as long as the Decimator will stay on my pedalboard.

UTILIZATION

It's simple, even very simple but extremely effective.

This is a Noise gate analog format Boss chrome.
Unlike most Boss pedals, I was surprised by the weight of the pedal once in hand, and what we feel are in there!
It has an input jack In and Out, a cavity for a 9V and 12V input.

UTILIZATION

Regarding the sound reproduction ... so there ... just a relief!
I play on Marshall tube usually in crunch channel, to which I added a distortion pedal, as you say that the slightest touch of rope directly sends feedback.

I tested the noise gate in different parts of my chain (including effects loop), for now the best place that I found, is between my pedals and amp cover.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it now for five months, it's not really my first Noise gate because I used noise gates of multi effects pedals before, and we feel much difference. The mute is far less brutal and more "intelligent" to me.

What I like most: The robustness of the pedal, it does its job well, easy to use.

What I like least: The knob that could be better calibrated, price: € 155 normally, I took her back the US, I could have less of the shot. It is certainly cheaper than € 100 PKI Decimator G-String ... but I think it's worth every penny!

I would do this choice? Yes clearly

I have had for some time a boss NS-2 and I think what dénaturre sound ...
I use the Deciminator for 2 weeks and compared to the Boss's day and night on the first try. One of the best guitar pedals I had, I would do is choice without hesitation. THE BEST NOISE OF THE WORLD!
