Published on 11/24/10 at 07:06Small pedal analog format at EHX Nano: The little sister of the Metal Muff. It has a volume Knob, a Knob dist. and a scoop switch 3 positions (off, low, high).
The distorted sounds are clearly oriented hard rock and metal (neo - trash).
UTILIZATION
Breeze! Knob the volume can get high output level, set at noon for me. Knob of the dist. (knob gain) provides different levels of overdrive, a small distortion in its big fat.
The scoop allows direct rendering general and to have 3 different sounds:
- In position off: all frequencies at noon, rather typed hard rock
- Low position: boost bass and treble and hollow in the midrange, we enter the saturation metal - trash
- High position: boost bass and treble + hollow midrange and more exaggerated, its a bit more neo ...
SOUND QUALITY
Forget small distortion, the muff pocket is not made for that. From the 2 / 3 of the race of the Knob dist., There is a record high with a gain compression of the sound rather warm (compared to a metal box or uber metal) coupling is so much better with other pedals OD ( TS ...) or fuzz (fuzz factory ...) upstream. With bad cable, it generates breath. It is perfectly acceptable with quality cables. Special mention to sustain, it is enjoyable in keeping notes on the solos.
OVERALL OPINION
We are dealing with a product not really versatile. It is made solely for a big sound in a metal rather registry clean and warm. I wanted that sound, I found a great price (68 € new).
