Made in USA Kalamazoo, this is an exceptional guitar produced only 2,200 copies between 1976 and 1979. A handle gibson (pickaxe handle as I call them, I like, it is holding) 22 frets, three original humbucker (t top, or versions before I know more).

I changed, because I bought a handyman who had just anything above (including a black aquarethane who shot the electric blue, it was horrible). So I added him a Bigsby, the gotoh smécaniques locking and more of the tones I put a filter to "purify" the sound of humbuckers for cleans (or have narrow all distortion ), in short it is a bit like a split pickups.

UTILIZATION

The handle is visually stunning (and the head), and very nice to play with the thumb on the button. The sound is simple to have a huge sustain (although my other les paul is worse at this level), and a huge palette of sounds with three pickups over the filter. SOUNDS

It is like any gibson perfect for blues rock, after agreements for fast power chords and it goes, but not saturated full chords it out of the mix, it is very rough and medium. Of all the guitars I've had in 30 years, I kept two: the Les Paul Artisan and my Herve Prudent Gypsum.
Seeing me cost about 6000 francs in 1983, it was almost an investment, especially for an instrument that one does not (at the time, I played on Stratocaster) but when you have dreamed for years of guitar on the cover of "Peter Frampton Comes Alive" (a 3-LP pickups) and you can have the same (and better) ...

OVERALL OPINION

Purchased in Paris France 9 (pigalle in the 80 and some)

These were part of the Norlin Gibson era, and they're extremely heavy due to the fact that they used the maple necks. The guitar features a mahogany body with a maple top, a maple neck with an ebony fretboard, 22 frets, special inlays, pickguard, binding, hard tail bridge, three humbuckers, two volumes, two tones and a three way switch.

UTILIZATION

These guitars seem to be built fairly nice, but I experienced some fretwork issues on a few that were in the store. Gibson still has some QC issues, so you really need to play all of these before ultimately buying them. The good thing is that they were all fairly resonant sounding. That means that any fretwork issues or nut issues can usually be corrected by a competent luthier without too much of a hassle.

SOUNDS

The maple neck on this added quite a bit of snap that you don't normally hear in standard Les Pauls. It adds more clarity, I've found. The guitar sounds pretty good, but they're stock Gibson pickups. I'm not totally crazy about these. The sound average, in my opinion. The bridge is medium output, and it sounds fat. However, it doesn't overdrive the amp like I like my pickups to. The neck is a bit too bright for my tastes, but you can calm it down with the tone pot. The middle pickup was totally useless.

OVERALL OPINION

If you find one of these at a good price, grab it. They're some of my favorite Gibsons since they tend to have the maple neck and the ebony fretboard. These woods really work nice with the mahogany body, and it is great for heavy metal once you replace the pickups in them. Just check out John Sykes for an example of the tone.

Oddly trs varies in sound .. (we imagine ... Gibson led zep .. Guns & Roses .. and all service Killers .. nan b ).... trs beautiful in its clean. . .... superb jazz trs versatile, in fact ... (mine is 77 .... the old pickups ... a bit of microphonics on the mic .. but an acute ITS .. .......!!!!! sound CAPS mre what ...)

OVERALL OPINION

.. Go .. as I am super goal ... I put in note 25 .. I play on Marshall and Vox is a killer .... the nail clippers .... THE SOUND OF ROCK AND ROLL one once and for all ..!!!
