i heard about this unit on musicians friend .com and decided i did not want to pay 400 dollars so i got it on ebay for 300 i got it because i am leaving to go to college and i wanted somthing that was more portable and less costley than my parants computer

i like the quality of the sound they are awsome i like that you can hook a microphone to and record somones voice to it and play it into the song its great for playing around with you friends but also great for live shows ovcourse with a coulple other units it can put on a great show

not enough space to record on

very durable drop it all you want not serious

if you are a serious dj or an amature this is always a good choice just have fun

the es1 is a small "sampler" sequencer well turn to live tekno. sampler in quotes because for me it is not a conventional sampler. it is especially being able to bring its sounds via the pc (frequency of 32kHz or loss ds sound sample. the sampler has 95 sec (WAVE or AIFF) in tt samples, all fairly short ds especially kan we love voice samples. For my part, I prfrer tt sounds clear origin for mine tt safeguarding the original sounds ds pc (the sounds are average)

an option above, the motion sequence (time and effect), ki can record a change of time or effect tps rel.
the general motion sequence is different, it can change the pitch, pan, reverse, etc. .. on each step individually. UTILIZATION

Operation is super simple and intuitive. in fact for me is more a toy k'autre thing.

the sequencer is adjustable "or 16pas/32/48/64pas 32/64/96/128 (in fact his show 2 * + faster, a little weirdo) or by the same 12 steps.
to fit the sounds, a pc is mandatory and a sound processing software (SoundForge, WaveLab, etc.) for the frequency change of the sample (standart 44khz, 32 khz on the es1). K'1 and smart media (just a little) and a smart media player (with usb 300/400frs)
the manual is simple but enough to galre tt understand surtt the motion sequence

SOUNDS

For sound, it means +. jm'explike, sounds lost in DynaMike bcp because of a change in frequency, but by choosing out these samples is + a problem too.
for effect, not bad, it adds a good toy tt + a ca. EFET is the control by 3 knobs, one to select the effect, one to set the power of the effect and another one to play with.
Filter kan has it, is the most bogus, impossible to play with a cut off.
I find the sound kan even a little flat, but for my part I have an equa parametrike ki allows me to play well in the + sound and the sound of AC prevents stagnant at times, but it gives a surtt could ... Dynamik.

OVERALL OPINION

This is my 3rd bar, I have a mc303, and a 1es1 er1 since. I have for about 5 months but I am Always it. She'll nikel with er1 ki ddi is to be with and the ke ea1 but good.
for me it's like a little toy world devoted to live tekno (nikel to chug!)
I teuffeur since 4 years and we set for 1 year and there's one month before I tap a live 500pers! and ct dla bomb!
BAR turn to a chug is the simplest and has a super performance.
I got a 330euros with smart media and a diskette for PC reader / writer smart.
in résumé if you're young, love you chug sound, love you kand is simple and direct, and love you PETE kand ca. You need the ba ES1

Super easy to use.
A lot of tricks to make more vivid sequences (effects, roll, motion sequi ...)
The Step sequi is super limited, but that's what makes its strength.
Sounds are saved in FLASH RAM, or SMART MEDIA, handy for editing on computer.

UTILIZATION

But there is no real need.
Limitations make the composition of small sequences electro fast and fun.

I provided quite a home studio, but I work a lot right now, the coup is the machine that most j'utitlise!!

SOUNDS

Factory sounds blah, but it's a sampler, which means that the first thing to do is to make small sound banks.
The sound is still a bit cheap, but it's part of its charm.
The effects are varied, and the master tempo sync delay ends to bind the sauce.
Level expression is not great, it's a BAR level of 80 years.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought it for 330 Euros in thomman, for sequences of small electro in my bed and me to make accompaniment séuences when I play the guitar, plugged into the AUX input of my Microcube. is the ultimate minimalist Mahine, but it is finally complete enough to assure itself of electro components, provided that the head is growing and that publishes its samples on computer!!
I feel sorry for against people who do live with because it is probably not very strong! But since I perform almost my room, and mostly in bed with (!!!), I decided to jump on OCCAZ to buy the old model, before the release of the ES1 MkII, which is identical, with new samples in RAM and a metal bodywork.

I would do this choice because the value price is really excellent!

UTILIZATION

Tonnament simple features as a whole ... C machine well adapted several musical styles (hip / hop, rap, dub, electro) because of its versatility biensur after mastering the user obviously ! You get get by fiddling sounds really original: time slice, motion squence .... Size for live but its place in the studio.

Good sound level for users motivated adpend samples, the crativit and the original of people with no manipulateur.Les crativit critics wrong all machines they can not use the router because of their weak music! C really wrong and they had better go play ball ... trs sound types "ES1" effects of + or - goods with a filter that serves no crying?? good momentum throughout.

OVERALL OPINION

It's been a year since I have my ct Premire korg: I'm glad she meets trs today despite all the machines I've seen .... C interresting as a machine to live in the studio but that c is true that spend hours for samples, the pattern says ,.... I keep problme.Je not have bought 599 new and I would do this without buying problem!

OVERALL OPINION

It's a great groovebox, which allows quick CRER patterns.les converters are quite transparent and not
fat, in the words korg, there is no special grain, but sounds to prix.utilisation, there is no more simple.d agreement
there are effects, but it lacks presence.je to think of loops, there is no better.
it is a machine dedi to live and not a sampler o can be treated the ADSR, or play the notes of a sample.
everyone says that there is not enough memory, I say no, if you know sampler, otherwise we s'achte plates.

for a game to play a very particular sound was clean this machine has put in his compound in homeopathic doses

32000 sample rate is corny. This product is best used as a sketch pad or a midi controller, not to put samples to disk or tape. The effects are also corny

OVERALL OPINION

Though limited, this machine is my arranging sketch pad. I make music like a mosaic, composed completely of small samples taken from my life. loading cleaned, cut and pitched samples via a smart card is easy. then arranging with this machine is portable, fast and fluid. the results can be saved and re-created in protools or any other tracking device.

This is great for a drum machine... I wasn't thinking of doing any DJ work or live performance before I got this, but I think I will be able to now (along with my DX100 :D)

Super easy but... If you want to organize samples and keep the originals, it's really hard to do. You can't export samples in any normal formats. That is stupid. It took me 3 hours to organize the sounds.

Um, it's plastic.

SOUNDS

Sample rate isn't great, but it's hardly noticeable (32k). The actual SOUNDS are up to you (it's a sampler...). The low end comes out really great though, which is something hard to find with cheaper stuff.

OVERALL OPINION

It's a real tight piece of stuff.

Although this little machine is loaded with features, it is missing a few critical components. First off, it does not allow you to chop up the slices so you have to use SmartMedia and chop it up on a computer. Also, you may only use one effect for all 12 triggers. Otherwise this is a tight little sampler. Motion sequence also allows you to create new melodies.

UTILIZATION

Read the manual! If you don't read the manual, you will probably get frustrated. Motion sequence is hard to learn but once you get the hang of it, you will be unstoppable. Slicing works best with drums. Otherwise, you could put together a dope pattern in a matter of minutes.

SOUNDS

The sound quality is good. The sample rate(3200)is OKAY. The effects are nice and the preset sample quality is way above par as far as some samplers go.

OVERALL OPINION

It is a plastic sampler with knobs that feel like you could break them off. It has a metal face but that is only for looks. Mine has been through much and it still works with no problems. It is build very well, however I don't know how durable it is but no problems so far.

This is a great sampler for beginners like myself. There are some limitations but don't give up because you will learn how to work around them. This would work well for learning about samplers and how they work. This thing is fun and easy to use and would be a great first sampler before an MPC.
