« Marshall MG50 DFX »

I paid $360 at a music store in IL. It sounded good in the store. I really only wanted chorus and reverb but the flange and delay (both worthless) came with it.

Appeared to be solidly constructed. It looks very classic. Numerous dials to adjust sound. Has a powerful sound. Good chorus and reverb. Has a good foot pedal.

The distortion is poor - muddy and not natural sounding. The cooling fan sounded like a model airplane on take-off. Obviously defective. I returned the amp for another new amp and the SAME PROBLEM started 2 months after bringing it home. Does not come with a dust cover and Marshall's owner - Korg - can't make or find one to fit.

The cooling fans on 2 different units crapped out. The store owner said he has been receiving other units back with same problem. He offered to replace the fan but I think I am going to look around the market for something else.

Marshall dropped the ball on this one. I think they cut too many corners to make this amp with a crappy cooling fan. What are the chances the 2 new amps I receive have the same problem? Pretty good according to the store owner and others reviews on websites. Fool me once, shame on me - fool me twice - "won't get fooled again". George Bush
