The software runs properly on my machine (which I will detail not), I would say it is anyway quite old and somewhat applicant to turn on everything you can find today.

I used it for two years and this is the only tablature editor / partitions that I had at the time.
I used it mainly to learn songs and to train effectively. I also made a little above. The sound quality is very limited, but can get an accurate representation of reality.
Quality / price ratio excellent today. I'm on version 6 now, but if doc sends me in the past I would do this choice without hesitation.

I used guitar PRO3, the difference is not standard (4, may be a bit slower), but at least you earn a score in addition to the tab (you can of course choose what displays) is appreciable.

No known incompatibility, my PC a little winded and antdiluvien (K6II-500 and 256 MB RAM PC-66 -}) turns the device without (too much) problem. Latest issue on a machine, absolutely no crash.

OVERALL OPINION

Used for over three months, to transcribe the scores of pieces of the group. S'changer forward to the Ides, was recorded bits of riffs on PC and we spun the CD-RW RPET.
Now we put on the Ides tablature GP4 (scratches, bass, keyboard, drums, and even the Młoda singing with all its rotten synth type slick backing vocals), quietly at home, and turned by mail! A complete song PSE rarely more than 50 KB ... And suddenly, everybody can work at home with headphones and click away!
Sounds are rotten bank requires a General Midi version. This is the same as on my Casio synth, I'm not dpays -}! But for the price, we will not require sound worthy of a VSTi either, even if not spit on it ...
With exprience, just that this choice referrer! If only we had known before a!

Configuration Athlon 1.2G + 512MB Ram running XP.
No problem report. I also installed on a Dell laptop (still running XP) no longer RAS

OVERALL OPINION

I use it since version 2.0, more than three years, and I followed all the revolutions (V3, V4)

This software is a good compromise: it is extremely simple to use for the edit tabs, while offering a wide range of possibilities (multi track tuning spciaux, effects such as bend, slide, vibrato .. .)
The input is the keyboard and once familiaris with all the keyboard shortcuts is faster trs.
It is also possible to enter with a MIDI keyboard but not - not only.

It also possde many features to use as a squenceur: Playback of the score table mix, change the tempo, mute, solo on every track, etc ...
Sounds on playback mode, and unlike what may suggest other opinions on this page, Guitar-Pro does not provide sample. The sounds you hear are in playback Midi sounds of your PC. So with a low-end card (eg on my laptop) sound quite a Bontempi.
Average on a map (type SB Live) you can get about the results trs correct if you make the effort to install Soundfont on your card.
Managing MIDI Guitar-Pro trs good with managing multi-channel and multi-channel (for a good return effects)

Guitar-Pro remains for improvement in printing. You do not get a rsultat prcis also in the layout with Finale or Sibelius products, but the price is not the same either! However, this is enough for a personal work (see same for a teacher, to print exos etc ...)

So personally I would classify more as a guitarist for squenceur than a partition editor, in any case it is the main use I make.
A big advantage also of Guitar-Pro RSID in the impressive number of tabs you can find on DIFFERENT sites, mainly Mysongbook.com

In conclusion, the price for this software is a good deal trs!

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a year, and I think to remain faithful to the Guitar Pro!
-The sound is very ugly in midi, but it allows the function to convert special MIDI in tablature! Take a midi file, you import it, and every part of the file was written in tablature with their respective instruments before your eyes ! It is a blessing in disguise.
-You can also transpose tablature partition.
-For the dunces of solfege, we can transpose the scores in different key tone ect ...

I have a good PC (AMD 1.4GHz, 512Mb) and Guitar Pro running without any problems.

OVERALL OPINION

I was very happy with the end of 2003 and my GP has had generally not changed. There are some features missing seuelement to seize all the partitions and in the long run really miss: the ratings of music theory (in particular triplets, ...), we define blocks duplicates ... . None seem to set the time being.

-My opinion of 2003:
The input is a cinch. It's all very intuitive. In fact, I downloaded, and transcribed some of my songs. I tried it for 2 hours and I immediately decided to buy it. I have now for a month.
I only use it to transcribe my own songs, and to this end it works really well. The ability to listen to what is written (MIDI synthesis) is very useful because it ensures the correctness of what was written.
Of course, there is room for improvement (some overprints, difficult to write a piece with many repeated passages ,...) but the features are very extensive and it is possible to describe most of what my fingers are on guitar.
I'm trying other demo, Guitar Pro and seemed more focused on the otuil "entry tablatures." I would buy no doubt.

The installation is without difficulty. The software offers many languages: it's good. I have not encountered any problems.

I use a process 1.8 Ghz, HDD 40 GB Again, no problem in terms of performance. It's going pretty quickly that way.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this software (GP3 and GP4) for three years. Before, I liked because it allowed TablEdit also write music theory. The use of GP is very convincing, it's simple and intuitive, but there are major defects:
-Notation of rhythm could be better: the difference between a black (long tail) and white (short tail) is not obvious.
-The impression is not sufficiently configurable. It's a shame.
-The most serious failure is the inability to write one more voice, the guitar is a polyphonic instrument, guys! Build a solo rock is simple, but writing a classical piece to two or three voices, is less so. The result is very difficult to read tablature. Example: I simultaneously a high-pitched voice with two notes, and a bass with a black. Well I'm going to write a note and not a black bass. Too bad.
We put that on behalf of the relatively low price.

Not a single problem installing guitar pro on any of my PC since version 3. Light as a feather

OVERALL OPINION

I use Guitar Pro since version 3 (I keep the CD as a relic). I love the fact that the software is simple notation and tablature, MIDI switching small, quick to put ideas into shape. The library of existing partitions, quality often is a more unequal. All this is printed rather well, surprisingly!

Small price, guitarists, bassists, go ahead without hesitation, but do not forget also a bit of music theory

I use it for 5 or 6 years. My software is essential. I thanks her progress. Not the tabs that can be found (90% full of errors), but that the work can be couraging with: what is clearly conoit s'nonce clearly. In short I work all my compositions and arrangements with this software, which allows me to communicate at once with other zicos (keyboard, drummers, etc.).. I used To create my own backing track that I refine cubase and then with a few plugs.
The only BMOL is the acquisition of midi file with the "triple". I tried all the ability to import, always with the same measures galre wrong (too much or not enough notes, dcalages).
This software should be provided with each guitar!
