Maton is Australian and that's all done by hand.
the woods are beautiful, the Australian walnut (or = queensland walnut walnut) for the sides and back of the guitar.
the table is sitka spruce. the handle is rosewood.
the finish is nickel, can not fault it really is very beautiful. we immediately see the attention given to this guitar, know-how and the taste of Maton guitars for beautiful.
UTILIZATION
Comfort +++++
the handle is one of the most enjoyable I've seen on a twelve, quite fine and slightly plump, it's really easy to play, fingers running around alone without disturbing the real treat is when you know the importance of the handle for the instrument.
like all twelve strings, two hours after the fingers fatigues but comfort is exceptional.
the guitar is perfectly balanced and right arm rests naturally on the body and leaves a lot of freedom of movement.
the guitar is light but it seems very costau and cut for the road.
get a good sound is fairly easy, a matter of hours to master the instrument.
the access is limited to acute the 14th to the 17th box if you have big fingers because no cutaway acoustic for this (the model with a cutaway electro)
SOUNDS
Good well rounded bass and treble hereof, the sound is very nice and especially well balanced. Audible is the power impresionante, no need to play like a Bourin to be heard by neighbors. the last fret sound very very good and unlike many of the 12 solos are quite possible.
the sound is the highlight of this guitar, beyond all my expectations. Maton has a well and you can hear him.
lil detail for new ropes: wait until the Brilant fades too early because the sound is loud and the bass does not really do listen. after 2 to 3 weeks we find a balanced sound and that is the fact that my vibrate.
OVERALL OPINION
The price: 1000 euros in new thinkmusic.co.uk in London.
The pros: it's esceptionnel énorment of sound volume on all freq.
Exceptional comfort, too (bend easily achieved, it quickly takes its bearings)
-The beauty of wood and matt finish (very nice pickguard too)
the-:-no distributor in France, alas
-Price (but hey it's high-end so you need to know what you want)
- No cutaway on acoustics.
this guitar is still a wonder very few negative points or not at all if like me you are not complicated.
