Small but strong!
The keyboard controller ESI KeyControl 25 incorporates the features of the keyboard NeON but without audio. It is these characteristics, compactness and its low price that motivated my choice.
UTILIZATION
One of the most surprising aspect of the master keyboard ESI KeyControl 25 is the high quality of touch of the keyboard weighted. These 25 keys provide a dynamic accuracy of the attack should be based on many other manufacturers. This is one of the highlights of this MIDI controller.
The general configuration of the keyboard - as the use of and access to different mode - is very classic. Note that the USB connection allows for self-supply of the apareil is however equipped with a conventional MIDI OUT. If you wish to use the MIDI connection, it will connect the keyboard to an external power supply (not included). Also note that this connection serves as a MIDI OUT MIDI THROUGH when using USB, it's very easy to chain another MIDI device as a slave (expendeur, bar or other ...).
The manual - English / French / German - should be enough to start a trouble-free. This document assumes that one knows what is spoken, that the user knows and MIDI controllers. Hum?
OVERALL OPINION
I use this keyboard for about 6 months. As extra keyboard as a MIDI controller and over-powerful.
I like, besides the undeniable qualities of his touch weighted - the compactness of the unit and - of course - the implementation of MIDI controller, which is his main interest! A gem! I enjoyed especially the 8 assignable knobs endless, a real treat!
Other keyboards in this range that I tried: Evolution MK425C (poor keyboard) - E-MU Xboard 25 (but less good keyboard controller!) - M-AUDIO O2 (MIDI implementation poor poorer and keyboard).
Excellent price for a successful model to design successful: I recommend it as a happy extra keyboard, as an alternative "Nomad" as keyboard synth (I used it with the Arturia Minimoog, a real treat!).
