Great cabinet
Published on 10/20/11 at 07:25The Randall R212 CB was designed by the company for optimal use with the Randall Modular Tube Series line of amplifiers. However, at its core it is basically a fairly standard 212 cabinet. It seems very similar to a Mesa Rectififer 212 as far as the construction, features and overall tonal characteristics. It has onboard XLR outs for going direct and also has onboard casters that easily pop out when needed. It's fairly heavy for a 212 and definitely the weight and dense construction play a part in the tone. It is loaded with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers, long regarded for their excellent midrange heavy voicing that works so well in the context of rock music. I personally have owned this...…

It is loaded with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers, long regarded for their excellent midrange heavy voicing that works so well in the context of rock music. I personally have owned this cab and used it with various American and British voiced amplifier heads and always gotten the killer crunch and low end that I like in my tones. I particularly like the way this cab reacts with high gain US type amps for modern rock tones. Compared to my previous cab the Randall is thicker and has a much beefier sound due to its robust and solid design.
All in all I think the Randall R212 is a great alternative to a Mesa or other modern design 212 cabinet. They were about $600 new but can be had for a lot less if you are vigilant. It has many cool features and most importantly sounds quite good. Definitely worth a look!

It is a 2x12 cabinet with Celestion V30 Mt.
It has the particularity INTERESTED trs (for me at least) to accept connections in mono (4 ohms or 16 ohms) and Stereo (8 ohms). So I can pair it with any other cabinet that ...
Intgres are also 2 XLR outputs with HP simulator! (I have yet to test)
It is lightweight (23 kg) and can put it in all directions with no problem.
I use a Triax + Mesa 2x90.
The diffrence with the Marshall 1960a I used is important ...
I redcouvre the sound of my Triaxis! For me it's a rvolution!
With the Marshall I was fighting to find that distos not twist the ears with acute crillard ... with Randall has pointed IMMEDIATE!

Grain V30 is really excellent! the baffle has a sound prcise, a potato excellent, good dynamics, diffuse sound is even leaving the cabinet on the floor! Before, I thought, "how a 2x12" can sound almost as big as a 4x12 "... and it's true it is not so far away (I always speak of Marshall).
What happiness!
And to think that it is not even the high end of the cabinet ... and b. ..
I do not put just 10 ... 9 ... 10 Reserved I in very high end.
A cot I would put 4 or 5 at Marshall!
I pay 550 euros nine book at me ... Lyon bought ...
If in addition to the XLR outputs are ... for the price ... it's a killer!
Added 28/10/2004:
I test the direct outputs of the rear baffle.
Well, not bad at all! Live for a walk trs trs well!
I tried with a microphone in front of the cabinet and a direct output of more: I had a good record of my effects Stros.
In my opinion, we can do without the mic and use only two direct outputs but I have not yet done.
I also compar recording with a microphone simultanment: not bad, but for sound decision-making studio microphone even when the top!

it's more cool than 4 loudspeakers carry less weight less problmatique quan gift plays a lot in concert Amoin have roadies!
I redo this choice because it is the one I wanted;
maintenat can be head with a marshall this fear even better I'll try.

Is fine ...
Published on 12/21/10 at 03:32 (This content has been automatically translated from French)I bought 2 years ago about this cabinet is in my opinion much better than Marshall.j love his practical side that allows me to play with my stereo gear from scratch "Mesa fifty / fifty" and the settings possible the back and the sound it goes without saying.
I would do this election if it was needed without hesitation.
I have no regrets!
