The interior is a transformer, a diode bridge, a capacitor and a voltage regulator. Then a small zener and led to ON. 7809 voltage regulator slammed on my own, I changed without difficulty but be handyman in case of problems. Otherwise it is a relatively quiet PSU so the Q / A is good
