Published on 01/03/14 at 12:58It is a 200W combo amp for acoustic guitar, but also accepts very well the voice and instrumental microphones (including with phantom power supply) and even a bass.
There are 4 tracks including 2 XLR or Jack (with power supply Phant.), Only one jack and stereo RCA.
Out in, it's either RCA or Jack or XLR symmetrized to live imput on a console.
Each track is a little EQ auéquipée 3 knobs, gain, a volume knob and an intensity effect.
It was more a Master Volume and a Master Effect of Line Out Master handy when used as a return.
It has a small panel of 8 preset effects mixed chorus, reverb, delay etc ... That classic.
Also a small ground lift at the back to cut earth friendly when used as DI.
UTILIZATION
Super easy to use. 4 tracks are exactly the same, is available above.
Basically it is used as a super simple mixer which also come out the sound ...
Ow just regret that the choice of the effect is applied to all tracks, because sometimes we wish that the voice is not the same as the guitar ..!
SOUNDS
This is a great amp for acoustic instruments. I use the Gibson J45 and capture LR Baggs original (ie piezo under saddle). The sound is very good. A rich bass, treble, resonance etc ... This amp brings a warmth that is welcome
I put 8/10 because at this price level, an anti feedback would be welcome .... Indeed, with a Dreadnaught + Piezo, it goes very quickly.
OVERALL OPINION
I hesitated with the Marshall AS100D and I am very happy with my choice. The ACUS has much more power and allows sound to my little training musicians when playing in small bars or dirty.
In addition, the sound is much more precise, warm, and adjustable.
Small point though: The amp comes without carrying case. If you want (and I guess so, given the vocation of mobile audio Minstrel device) you will get € 55 more which is not justified!! Indeed, the cover is a quilted bag with two handles and straps. When we see that covers larger 4x guitars and best quality are sold less than 30 €, it's still pretty bad.
