I use this pair of listening to the mix (pop rock, soft rock, rock not too aggressive) connected directly at the output of my sound card because it is an amplified model.
These are near field monitoring but which delivers a power more than adequate. The sound stays clean even at high volume.
SOUNDS
The details of the stereo image is one of the main qualities of BM5A. Much detail, excellent dynamics.
The response curve is very homogeneous throughout the spectrum except in the bass (You lose a lot from about 80 Hz) or use the box that goes with it is mandatory if we mix in musical styles and is paramount. (Electro, etc. etc.)
For my part, I do not.
Treble are very nice and do not tire your ears even over long mix sessions. I use them even listen to every day and it does.
To have a cohesive sound, it needs to have proper installation, ie quite far from a wall including the serious becomes really inaccurate and too far.
OVERALL OPINION
I have since 2006 and I use quotidienement and I love them! I had never bought before tapping them but I had the opportunity to work on the Genelec, Yamaha, JBL particular.
I will ever be such a choice without hesitation, this is a very good price / quality ratio.
