I might order it because it is one of the only models to offer as wide a range of frequencies (38> 22 kHz). I do not want to mix the blind in the bass.
By suddenly it's against the 8 "woofers which represents 20 cm made a big to be the play from home where I'll mix. As it is a long term investment I I said that one day my pice listening will be larger and adapts.

I hope that the opinion of Chuck2kill is necessary (the mediums), I hopes to optimal neutrality for this supposedly "best quality for money."

NOTICE GLOBAL

I too would have liked more rglages derrires (bass treble) but since Adi bass go well boost the listening, I think a go. May be a between RCA would avoid me having to sacrifice one of my jack jack cables.
And like all models quisiement, I find a completely sucks that volumes are to the rear. Because my sound card Emu semi pro (emu 1820) has no physical button output volume.

I chose this model 8 inches for good bass.
I use these speakers for the djing, so I was looking for his faithful and spectrum wide enough for a decent price

SOUNDS

the frequency curve is not as neutral as in yamaha example, but this is what I wanted.
There is a very good dynamics and stereo image is good.
The sound is very good on the "whole spectrum, can be a bit light on mediums for studio use

OVERALL OPINION

I use M audio for 2 months and I'm very happy. this is my first monitor speakers.
what I like the most are low, and what I like the least, it is the volume knobs at the rear.
For me one of the best quality / price.
I would do this choice without problems, but that can be with a bigger budget, I would have taken krk RP8

The M-Audio BX8 D2 studio monitors are affordable and have a clean sound. The bass is not as good as most other monitors in this same price range but everything else is pretty clean. With the bass being so “loose” and it was very hard for us to work with these and put a good mix on our tracks. They just were not working for us. At first I thought it was because we used such good monitors at the studio then came home to these, but either way it didn’t matter because we did not like the bass. Also if you start to get them turned up too loud you will start to hear some other issues with them like light distortion and maybe even blow one of them if you are not too careful.

I have used many M-Audio products and they all have been great to me, but these just didn’t do it for me at all. I was very scared they would blow because of how they sounded at max volume. I used these for a few days and knew that I could not keep them. Also there was a slight humming or buzzing sound anytime they where plugged up and on. I thought that maybe I had a defective pair of the monitors until I looked them up online and there are a large number of people saying the exact same thing about these monitors, so they had to go back.

OVERALL OPINION

I do not recommend getting these, mainly because of the issues that come with them. There are so many other monitors in this price range that will sound so much better and last you a longer time with no hissing or humming sounds when turned on. For 500 dollars your money can get you a lot more, and more importantly it will get you something that you will be proud of. You will not be happy if you purchase the BX8 D@ Monitors.

I can not really answer this question perfectly but overall I think they have the answer but a slight indolence in the deep bass.
