I am currently looking for monitors with an 8-boomer "cheap (I am a student) for my home studio because I mixed and mastered the models in my group.
I've never had monitors, I work on fairly flat computer speakers (Altec Lansing FX5051) by not putting the speakers in 2.1 for the music (I do not put the 5.1 for games)
I did not buy but I had the opportunity to listen in a store. The computer was connected to a small table (with 4 or 5 tracks, not much more)

SOUNDS

Équalos when the table was flat, the sound lacked treble and bass.
The stereo imaging is impressive for the price!
I found the mids a little fuzzy, but good for € 400 (or a little less well when it is arranged with the seller) can not ask the moon!
The momentum seemed satisfactory, but I felt that there was little reaction time for them to come sounds at high volume ... I can not explain ...
The low-cut filter is good. You should know that it is useless to put it on 45Hz, otherwise the sound is super dull! Instead of 100Hz, it does not have much bass. I'd say put it on 60 or 80 depending on your ear.
It is unfortunate that we have need of an equalizer to boost the bass and treble ..

OVERALL OPINION

The value for money is good or very good in my opinion, because to find speakers with woofer 8 "to less than € 400 a pair, it is not clear ... in the same range, we find Prodipe Pro 8. If you want the most prestigious brands, we must let go a few hundred dollars more, of course ...
I regret, however, again the lack of bass and treble.
