SOUNDS

Is the stereo image satisfactory? not
Is the sound clear and precise all along the spectrum? the high frequencies are just rubbish
Are the dynamics respected?... very low
Are the effects good, usable and sufficiently realistic? not, this is the worst product I've bought in my life

I use them as monitoring speakers in my home studio!
I do not use amps! it is amplified so it is plugged into my mixer!

-For the price, and the Utisa for home studio, I was nothing to say about the curve of frquence, I think that to have a neutral sound with perfect speaker can be added a deri 0 re the pros took 5 ribon

I used the pre-Alsis, nothing like it much better prodipe for months there is no foto!!

Home studio.
Usage Amateur / Semi.
From 10 to 15 m2 where they are placed, connected to a card Echo gina 24 / 96 and a Mackie 1402 VLZ PRO.

Electric guitars, electro acoustic, bass, drums, vocals. mixes, piano, keyboard master.

SOUNDS

- The frequency curve is sufficiently neutral?
- The stereo image is good?
- The sound is clear and precise on the spectrum?
- The dynamics are respected? ...

I found the stereo very well made, and differentiation of nice voice, which seems to order manufacturers / Ribbons: promote acoustic spaces where stamps (guitars, vocals, percussion) and so on. must be distinct. (see press release prodipe, subjective of course).

-May still be a slightly flattering low level / lack of detail.
But on cymbals, kiks, the percussion, it remains fairly accurate even bluffing (to have tested my own drum cymbals long, I found the ribbon, where the sounds were better defined than the Tapco example. over their volume at the back remained low compared to Tapco (which bump or a little too, deserve their name!) but I think that pushed a little, to me, they really yield better dynamic level. .!

I have ordered last week in effect on line / guitar line is in Lyon, where I was able to test more than half past one,
as well as:

- 5 pm E-mu (pretty pathetic, something like garish, too expensive for what it is) just too medium and multimedia, but I suspected I have listened, because 'there'.
(Ridiculous to propose to the 449th, there are better and cheaper!)

- Mi Alesis mkII because it's been ten years since it sells, and some mods to even have af mixed good recordings on it, but it's very deaf, as its very dated. old and for the same price, there's more.

- Tapco S5 (although here I must say that I almost hesitate!) There is nothing to say there is some quality in manufacturing, a good potato, large dynamic stereo sound, a good report ... BUT .. too many mediums, and heavy metal medium well, it's obvious at some point it turns to mush sound so tiresome to me on long sessions.
Voices and percussion / world music to Susheela Raman, even the voice mixes with the instruments at certain heights .. not on the ribbon; more accurate.

- The Ribbon 5 are better in lower, more detailed, more "round".
They seem to me as a much better production / components / robustness.
(Not to mention the best located events, for me)!

- I'm also went to The Merchant of at Limonest (Lyon) test (famous) Fostex PM 1, sure it would please me much, given the opinion, the press, specifications .. Despite a good dynamic, the Fostex have little low (I was even part of the 0.5 pm: what it would have been !!).. very disappointed.
The friend, an electronics engineer who was with me, built for him (but insane hp), it told me it was very average too .. he found the bass crap, it has been the highlight qu'enfoncer.
In addition, the listening conditions were bad (that too, plan to be relaxed and very focused, to go fast, since not already, guitars in hand, the guys who walk in it, do not help, then you really have to arm themselves with concentration).
