In this price range, there is not much choice!
I think (maybe wrongly) that the choice of monitoring pregnant should not be done "by ear" but only on the linearity of the spectrum of restitution, its dynamics, its ability to not be too dependent its environment to sound "flat".
And not the choice completely subjective and psychoacoustics of listening.

What motivated me my choice is the answer in the low end, finishing the review and price.

I use in my home studio for my electro components.

Unpacking, very impressed with the size (especially depth), finish, weight.
The event was back in my opinion the weak point, because the answer in the bottom becomes very dependent on placement in the room.

I think these monitors do not lend themselves to really listen close: the treble is very directional, and under the size of the front, it is far from ideal point sound source.

SOUNDS

So far, so plot thickens!

These are my first monitor speakers.
Music lover first and foremost, I always had the opportunity to hear the speakers for a public audiophiles (and very easy!: O).
I'm not sure what should look like the signature sound of a monitor?
it should sound "flat" is not it?
Well here it is, the spectrum seems balanced. I do not find them particularly dynamic (not to be confused with the power).
I expected to sound very analytical, very lively but I found the sweet enough S8 (thank you lack of titanium in the tweeter), not really living.
This is probably what is expected of a monitor: neutrality.

The bass response is very dependent on the spatial position, the bass sound very dull if it is less than one meter from the wall (I regret the absence of an attenuation switch for the bass).
Placement must be aerated (1 meter up / down / back, by avoiding what!: O)).

To fully benefit from the return of spatial instruments, we must have some back from the speakers.
Personally, I would have preferred a "close" the bass-reflex of S8 (less dependent on the environment).
We want 40Hz bass? they were! Now hello to "maintain" in place!

OVERALL OPINION

I've only been qq days, I move in all directions to find some clarity in the bottom.

I love their beautiful finish (thank you China!), The solid appearance, their neutrality, they do not look tired in my fragile little leaves.

For cons, I think they are not intended for small home studio, they do require a large volume to speak properly, and back. They are very incombrantes (I can not see my screen!).
Too directive.

For the price / quality ratio for me is unbeatable!

Repeat this choice? no, I think I prefer the speakers less difficult to make it sound a little more "open", "singing", more dynamic.
But my room is small, I'm moving soon, I would come to update this notice if I spell with these damn low! : O)
