Cacractéristiques techniques (source: www.sydec.be):

- Connection to a 32 Soundscape, Soundscape 16, a 192 or a Mixtreme iBox (Mixpander Power Pak) via TDIF (cable long enough)
- 8 input channels and standard analog output up to 96kHz with Apogee conversion, option Soft Limiting and level display on the front panel. These inputs and outputs require the purchase of cables or beams DB25/Jack DB25/XLR DB25 ProTools format.
- 8 channels of input and output AES / EBU up to 96kHz
- 8 channels of ADAT input and output up to 48kHz
- Input / Output WordClock

OVERALL OPINION

I have three, for a week now.
These converters have been co-developed by Apogee and SYDEC (brand appatenant now SSL, which is no indication that the well for the future of the brand).

The dynamics of the sound is rather exceptional, the sound that comes that emerges simply.
I have long had a Roland VS1680 digital recorder, and it was considerably more colorful, less neutral as convertissuer, but hey, it's not really comparable, especially at budget ))

Good, I record everything with my 3 converters (the same 3), and each rehearsal is also through these converters.
Really no complaints, I have invested there not too long ago in a dual preamp GTQ2 very very distinctive Neve 1073, and the final sound is to die for ...
I really want to emphasize the dynamic quality when converting but NA NA!

Too bad that the trademark has stopped production of I/O896, since they are "SSL" in fact .. At the price I paid nine (500 Euros each) GIFT is really, I like!

I do it again this choice with his eyes closed!
