UTILIZATION
The general configuration is relatively simple. No need for any manual is really hyper intuitive.
All functions are at your fingertips.
The routing possibilities are monumental.
SOUNDS
This console sounds "hot" and the preamps are really super good to my taste. I switched to digital (Mackie D8B) because of the practicality of the latter and the fact that you can use it as a DAW controller but I do not really find the heat of the Topaz.
The EQ is super efficient.
You really "tapper" a block. preamps in before you hear the slightest breath.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for almost 4 years and I must admit I'm in love with this console. My finances do not allow me to keep more of my digital but I really had a great time on the latter.
+ What I like:
- The direct outs on 24 tracks (very handy for saving battery power, or return to Recorder Digital audio card ...)
- Having 8 subgroups.
- The bar graph
- Food Phamtome on each track (hyper hyper practice).
- The sound and the warmth of preamps.
- Intuitive and practical side of the beast.
What I like least:
Nothing apart from the color of plastic.
If I had to buy an analogue desk ca be one!!
