Spend quality manufacturing, which was more cheap than the Prophet 5.

The Pro600 does not equal Pro5, there is a safe bet that the filters were not Curtiss. Nevertheless, the 600 delivers a big sound, maybe a little metal relative to Pro5.

The BIG default 600, which is rarely pointed, is the cruel lack of nervousness envelope filter and VCA. It is hard to believe that they were analog ... In my view, they were probably digital and .... coded on 8 bits! There, no attacks and decays as short slap on the Pro5 or MiniMoog but absolutely crippling weakness. Review!
Besides, I have kept a year.

Despite the quality of filters and polymodulation these catastrophic envelopes require me to note 2/10

I must say that I had at the time an Oberheim OB-Xa.

its rather aggressive, difficult to make it sound.
The filter is unusable, unless you do not turn the knob while playing the keyboard and all the knobs are very fragile, a synth any plastic not at all pleasant to grind.
The arpeggiator is not fun, I do not see how such a synth can take as much value.
It takes him to bcp effects c .. to catch this side "harsh" and save the furniture.

OVERALL OPINION

I used it for a year. I almost had all analos Polyphonic this time. Not at all endearing. There are better for a few hundred dollars cheaper, you will eventually see you as the spare.

Midi Machine, 100% analog, warm sound really there. 6 voice polyphony, 2 oscillators per voice.
A synth in the tradition, no frills: no sequencer complex, an arpeggiator, which does its job.

OVERALL OPINION

Side maintenance, the Prophet 600 has its teething troubles and old age:
- The keypad membrane control panel is aging badly and causes a malfunction of the machine, the sheets of cross-link cards will défiabilisent few tantalum capacitors suicidal (given the age of cushy, normal) and integrated circuits the form are obsolete and hard to find and quite expensive ....
As with all polyphonic analog of the time, an uncertain future, as it works, everything is going ...

Five-octave keyboard non-dynamic (no VLOC the sensitivity), the Prophet 5 is the first MIDI synthtiseur. And if the implmentation of the standard basic fact is, most is Submitted. The connector includes a mono output, two connectors for pedals, and between CV (Control Voltage to MIDI ancestor) to possibly control the opening of the filter.
The internal memory consists of 100 sites in total, with the possibility to save in "data" to an audio tape!
Polyphony is 6 notes, and there is not much sr multitimbral mode.

UTILIZATION

The initiation of the Prophet 600 is particulirement simple, since for the settings has its own potentiomtre. The edition is convenient and trs mmorisation equally childish.
User manual (which I possde in English) is complete and perfectly trs teaching.
Still on the use, an important point to consider: if the Prophet 600 and controlled by a microprocessor and its tuning is done automatically fawn, it must be the ignition 15/20 minutes for it to be good and it does temprature dsaccorde more ...

SOUNDS

Even if the Prophet 600 is not a Prophet 5, it comes close many of the guards. Its filters and mini modulation matrix are also the same! I think for the beautiful tablecloths pchues, the powerful leader, organs, and clavinets ... Its grain is really analog, and for good reason. As for the time rel modications is happiness!

OVERALL OPINION

Despite the small default read the advanced age of synthtiseur, pleasure of use remains intact. His sound is perfect all types of music, especially that its programming is REALLY childish. UTILIZATION

Very easy to take in hand, the memory lives easier, no need for manual but in the worst case it is easily found in French on the net, really a beautiful machine trs reliable (for the moment I board had no problem, knock on wood)

Sequential is pure, small ERRF the Prophet 5 with the trs trs near water, lead, bass and everything goes P600 always shows performance trs.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for two years, a machine with a real personality complte. This is my first synth and I board never regretted my purchase, the price quality ratio is acceptable, with the exprience I would do the same choice as in the same range of prices and about the possibilities there is no better!

Sequential Circuits’ Prophet 600 is a vintage analog synthesizer. It’s got a lot of versatility, and is actually a bargain considering the price that these go for used. The keyboard spans about four and a half octaves and it has both pitch and modulation wheels. It’s got pretty standard connections in the back, and this is actually the first synthesizer to have MIDI capabilities!


UTILIZATION

The configuration of the Sequential Circuits Prophet 600 definitely has a good amount going on, but those interested in analog synthesizers certainly know that this will be the case with many analog synthesizers. In fact, that’s a main reason that I love both analog synthesizers in general and the Prophet 600 in particular. The sections of parameters that this synth has to work with includes two oscillators, an in depth filter, and an amplifier, as well as an LFO and a variety of other parameters on the outskirts of the main sections. As is the case with all analog synthesizers, if you’re familiar with these sort of parameters you’ll catch on quickly, but if not you might want to do some research on synths in general.


SOUNDS

The sounds on the Sequential Circuits Prophet 600 are definitely versatile to say the least. In general it certainly sounds like an analog synthesizer, but it isn’t as clean cut as some of the more expensive synths out there like a Moog. There is a whole lot that can be done with the Prophet 600 if you know how to use it, and I’ve really only scratched the surface thus far with it. It’s probably best suited for use in the recording studio since it’s an older synthesizer, but no one would argue if you wanted to use this for gigs.



OVERALL OPINION

For the price that these can be found for used, the Sequential Circuits Prophet 600 is one of the best deals for an analog synthesizer that I’ve seen out there. While definitely not as great sounding as some other analog synths that I’ve used out there, this does have as much versatility as any of them. If you’re looking to get started with analog synths or simply add another color to your collection, you can’t really go wrong with the Sequential Circuits Prophet 600 if you can find it at it’s average price.
