The Maxon BD10 Hybrid Bass Driver was designed in collaboration with Japanese bassist Masaki (Gus G, John Petrucci) and is based on the famous Maxon 808 circuit. It includes a symmetrical clipping circuit that allows, according to the manufacturer, for generating a fat and articulated distortion. Bassists can use it to get very diverse effects, wether they need a little punch to their signal or extreme saturation and everything in between.
The pedal features a +6dB boost for the clean signal, another 14dB boost for the overdriven signal, a distortion amount control and a 2-band EQ. A buffered bypass is footswitchable.
Maxon adds that tough it’s primarily design for bass, the BD10 Hybrid Bass Driver is also suitable for guitar.
US price is $169, more info at www.maxonfx.com.
