Ampeg BA-112
Published on 12/06/10 at 15:00This is a very compact bass combo amp. The Ampeg BA112. It is more than enough juice to practice solo bass with, you can easily do a quiet gig with, but it is juuust a bit under powered to play a loud rock gig with.
The amp puts out 50 watts into a custom Ampeg speaker (probably just a fancy way of saying 'We got Eminence to built us a speaker for cheap!')
I'm looking for the best portable, loud combo for under $500. This isn't the best, but it's not bad. I paid $279 for it from American Musical Supply.
I like it's portability. Let's face it: it looks cool. I'm sure a non-Ampeg bass combo with these features would need to be cheaper.

The EQ is very, very extreme. You can dial in many different tones. The 5-way rotary preset knob takes a bit to get used to, but it is basically sweeping or boosting your mids depending on the setting.
It is noisy. I can hear noise from my wireless card and cell phone. The amp makes a loud POP then I turn it on. It is just not powerful enough for all my gigs.
I wish it had an XLR out.
You can tell Ampeg built this on a budget. The hardware is cheap, it is not the cleanest build, and I mentioned it's a bit noisy.
Remember this is meant to be a cheap practice amp. I guess I expect too much, but hey, it sounds good and it works.

Ampeg BA-112
Published on 02/06/03 at 15:00I bought my Ampeg at C.A. House. The reason I bought this amp is because I wanted more power than my Peavy Microbass 20w. I paid $430. I little much for a 50w, but it was sure worth it.
The Ampeg has a lot more power than what you would think. Espically if you have active pickups. It has a style selector which is awesome. It also has a kickback feature. Before I got this amp I wanted to get a Hartke Kickback 12. This amp has 120 watts. I went to my local music store and tried it out. It wasn't too bad. Then I tried out the Ampeg thinking that 50 watts wouldn't come even close to the Hartke. It blew the Hartke out of the water!!! The Ampeg had so much more power and better features than...…

There is nothing is dislike about the amp.
The quality and construction of this amp is amazing!! I don't think there is a better 50 watt out there!!
This amp is overall the best. I STRONGLY reccomend this amp to any bass player for practicing or jamming.

Perfect for the show!
Published on 03/07/14 at 03:37 (This content has been automatically translated from French)Bass combo transistor 50w, HP 12 "passive input and active.
3-band EQ, a selector with 5 styles, RCA input, a line output and headphone output a.
UTILIZATION
Configuration is very simple, the sound is clean, round, punchy, well-typed Ampeg, amp cash very well the E string, the HP "does not spit, for home use it is perfect!
SOUNDS
The amp is quite versatile, I play it with a Squier Classic Vibe Jazz Bass and I am completely satisfied.
As I said above, the sound is typical Ampeg and for the price and size of the amp is a plus! It is perfect for home use but it seems to me too just for the rehearsal with a drummer and guitarist.

HP 12 "delivers a clean and punchy sound, ideal to work properly at home without being limited compared to an HP 8" or 10 "on an amp of this size.
OVERALL OPINION
I bought it yesterday morning, what I like most I would say the sound, style, design, certainly at least the production quality we see that the power supply at the rear of the amp 'm very cheap, Ampeg manufactures most of its transistor amps in China for some time if you want made in U.S. it is necessary to start an amp lamps After the amp is guaranteed for 2 years so good.
I put a lot of time to decide to buy this amp, I tried many amps, Ashdown Eb lite good but a little too big for home use and it remains the entry level in Ashdown The Markbass Micromark home perfect but too expensive for me.
The value of the BA 112 report is not too bad if somewhat overpriced if we take into consideration the finishing of the amp but its level there is nothing to say if you use a low quality.
If you want a proper amp to work at home, go for it

limit a bit repet
Published on 02/19/13 at 15:45 (This content has been automatically translated from French)for features, visit ampeg, except that it is a 12 'transistor ... I know no more, this is an amp made available room repet
UTILIZATION
config ultra simple, 3 knobs and a selector amp simulation (also blah blah)
the sound quality is not bad ... on the other hand it lacks safe, it not broadcast the masses.
SOUNDS
style for the group, it goes
I tested with a jazz bass mex. the sound quality is correct, after, given the reputation of Ampeg, I expected better, it not break 3 legged duck either
façe not nag a drummer and two guitarists (one transistor amp 60 W and another on 100w lamp, it goes just volume 8 ... blah
